Not sure if I understood this correctly — but did he claim that he did not ask out this summer and despite that, teams wanted him and made offers and he turned them down because he wanted to stay in Manchester?

I have forgotten it, where did the info come from that he asked out?
Yes, he had made up his mind to stay. But clubs kept asking about him and many club directors had to go public and say they don't want Cristiano.

But though he had made up his mind and Mendes wasn't in market at all, he let the executives to think that he was lying about his time off. He refused to give out a statement through his agent that they were not looking to move. Instead they let the rumous go on, until Piers Morgan turned up

I took the liberty to jump at you because I've read many posts of yours over time that transmitted a sound understanding or interpreting of all things United. (How did that go down? Sucker!) So, thank you.

It was late and I was having a hard time typing your effing language with my right index into this keyboard that's been designed for midgets while browsing the dict with my left index. Should have paid more attention with Mrs. Klein, or have smaller fingers, really. Anyway:

- This take - "unauthorized, damaging, miscalculation" - is what dominates these days, so one wonders if the clubs networks and narrative designers are at work here. Albeit a heretic one, I liked to ask the question of authorship. Probably not very smart, but there you go.

- After the initial lets all jump the bash train here on this site, a number of users (don't think they're fanboys) have started to point out that part of what Ronnie says is actually worth hearing (regardless of how big of a cnut Morgan is). It is not unthinkable that the judgements continue to shift within the fan base, probably not into absolution, but fellowship perhaps. Keane like. A bit smarter, right?

- Ronnie gets the shitstorm mainly for firing against Ten Hag, a coach that everybody hopes will have an impact (hey podcast guys) and who shall turn around the decrease. Since the outcome of said interview was exactly so predictable, engineerable, it is not a stupid thing to suspect that it was being done on purpose to help Erik. Just so happens to look the opposite to fans, but so what.

That is what was hidden behind my cryptic entry. Forgive my faults when you see any, please, but do not hesitate to point out that I'm far away from everything, or to correct me. At your leisure!
Are you ok? I think you have mistaken me for someone else but i would tone down the ad hominem.

So confirmed then that he likes and listens to Jordan fecking peterson.

Ronaldo, Piers Morgan, Jordan Peterson.

What a fecking trio that is.

This is the point where a competent interviewer would then ask - "But you've only scored 3 goals this season, do you think you've done enough to warrant being pivotal to the club this season?".
Wouldn't want to risk him walking out

“I do everything to help the team”

apart from come on the pitch when the manager asks me.

whole interview was just a load of self serving bollocks

Oh don’t get me wrong, Juve’s finances are in disarray. I think they’re also in a big legal dispute. They can’t even afford to sack Allegri. That said their best ever year for revenue was the year Ronaldo joined, then covid hit and the ESL got binned.

You seem very focused on the present and not understanding how lucrative whichever clubs can win the key geographic areas is. United have matched a state run club for spending basically off the back of successes from a decade+ ago and that was before social media and data analytics really boomed.
You see that part is wrong and it's actually an example of the point I'm making. United commercial success is based on several decades of team success, that team success allowed a continuous and positive image, it wasn't based on a single player, it wasn't based on a single team and it wasn't a short term process or linked to a specific transfer. You do not get a stable and loyal fanbase through the transfer of a single player.

I love how he’s trying to justify that he’s still good enough by reminding us that he’s better than most 37 year olds.

ETH deserves massive respect for how he's handling this so far. He'll surely command the respect of the rest of the squad after this, it should be unquestionable.
Without doubt. If a manager is strong enough to be this firm with Ronaldo, then no other player can think they can get away with shenanigans.

It's abundantly clear this entire thing is because the coach doesn't consider him a guaranteed starter.

I can't understand the point of all this except him wanting out and making himself hard to keep. When you think you are bigger then the club, it is no point keeping you.

As I previously said, no problem. He should leave but only in the way that benifits the club. Just letting him go and pay him is out of question according to me. Let him find a club (he said so many are intrested) and let that club pay us.

He will get a thank you for memories and good luck.

I think even more than that it’s that he’s wanted out of the club since at least last January, and it hasn’t happened. All the stuff he’s pulled since then has been an attempt to manufacture his departure, yet he’s still stuck here. So this interview is his final play to get out. The problems with ten Hag are ultimately a product of that.

Or we could just terminate his contract on grounds of breach (I'm sure our lawyers would have pinpointed something), and he can be seen off with a cold "Man United can announce Ronaldo has left the club". No elaborate thank you, no compilation video, just let him wither away like a somber fart to the Saudi league.

Ronaldo calls Rooney a rat. Piers invente a scenario where Rooney "hates" Ronaldo. What a pair of narcissistic cretins.

that short snippet pretty much sums up the whole interview.

1) Morgan stroking Ronaldos ego
2) Ronaldo seeing himself as a God who can't be criticized
3) Morgan inventing/suggesting things to get spicy quotes
4) Ronaldo buying it hook, line and sinker

and repeat. Nauseating stuff with two incredibly dislikeable men.

Piers Morgan’s only fans site seems to have crashed. Never mind, it was only a load of old Bollix anyway.
