Loved seeing Licha back. He can't score goals for us, though, so we are still in deep shit

Another awful display
Mainoo has been consistently the most decent player on the pitch, followed by Garnacho. Just swap the starting 11 for the Academy 11. They can't possibly do worse, can they??!

Our only tactic is quite literally let Bruno keep trying Hollywood passes until one actually comes off and hope one of our attackers don’t feck it up.

Disagree with Neville's assessment. Spurs had a lot of possession, but didn't threaten much in open play. Not convinced they were by far the better side like he asserts.
I've watched them in 4 games now and they haven't really impressed me. I don't get the circle jerk. We should have won. Bentancur is class though. Cost Conte his job.

Started well. Had the ideal, perfect start. Should have then kicked on from there to dominate the game and get the next goal. Didn't. Conceded from a corner, and could have conceded mere moments before that. Looked second best throughout the half, but managed to take the lead at half time through Rashford - against the run of play.

Started off very poor in the second half and conceded instantly. Looked second best throughout that half, too.

Dropped 2 points at home from a winning position (leading the game twice) and we also looked very poor after a good start. Not happy with it. However, it's also a very typical, standard performance from us. We always seem to look second best in all areas, we always seem to create fewer chances than the opposition, and the quality of football always looks worse compared to whoever else we are playing against.

Disappointing - again. Only positives were Hojlund scoring and Martinez coming back.

Scrapped a draw at home to Spurs reserves. Suicidal amount of corners given away, especially as every one created havoc in our box

Notes:

  1. Rashford looking 75% back to it in the first half, which is great to see. A constant threat. He’s even going on the outside and using his left (would rather that than the constant cutting in).
  2. Having Garnacho on the right gives us much better balance, though I don’t think he was at his best today.
  3. Our defending on corners is criminal (part 1). Both Rashford and Dalot are on the post nominally for their corner before the goal - and as the corner comes in they both come off the post, marking nobody, affecting nothing. I don’t get it - either man the post or mark someone.
  4. Our defending on corners is criminal (part 2). Watch when Romero hit the bar. This says a lot about our team (or the lack of a team spirit in our team). Asking Mainoo to mark Romero? What even is that about? Surely one of the bigger senior pros woulda been better off handling their centre back.
  5. Once again the opposition looks better drilled, better coached, and crucially far more aggressive than us. We are just so slapdash and lackadaisical.
  6. Still have zero idea what even is this side. It’s just such a mash-mash of old pros, new blood, conflicting ideas, square pegs in round holes, and zero fluidity. I guess we’re a counter-attacking side? Only because we have fast forwards and in Bruno and Eriksen the kind of players who can conjure a good fast through pass. But that is just because on the ball with teams set we have no discernible style at all. Once again we just simply look terribly coached. There’s no getting around that. I mean we’re a mess. We could take corners for 10 years without a goal, whereas spurs looked like scoring with every corner. Moments United, what is this crap. We’re better off just watching the highlights.

Gripes:

  1. Why were they always going on about Spurs missing ‘5 or 6’ players the entire game. We’re still missing 3 key players in Casemiro, Shaw and Martinez (only just back), plus whatever Mount is.
  2. Wan Bissaka booked for that challenge, I have no idea what’s going on. How was Newcastle’s first goal allowed against City yesterday in comparison, that challenge was a lot ‘more dangerous’?

Even the commentators sounded bored at the end of it and they're being paid to watch that. The thing that was blatantly obvious again is the complete lack of a style of play/system, Moments FC back in full force.

Our set pieces stink. We almost never become dangerous on them - neither corner kicks nor free kicks. It cannot be that teams that are far worse than us can be far better than us in that area.

That's a 4-2 loss for us with Maddison and Son on the pitch. Just fecking brutal to watch from us as usual. We are good at pressing but that's it.

Frustrating to drop two points at home when leading twice. Both goals conceded as has been with this group of players all season came from switching off on a set piece and right at the start of 2nd half.

Better more focused teams don't concede goals like that nor do they sit off a spurs missing a lot of their front line players admiring their possession game like they were prime Barcelona.

2nd half was a half of few clear cut chances and McTominay should be scoring at least one of his two good chances so could have grabbed a win although wouldn't have deserved it.

At this point anyone thinking our problems are mainly down to injuries is probably a fecking moron.
Spurs without Maddison, Son, Bissouma, Kulusevski were streets ahead of us in general play because they actually have a coach who knows how to implement a modern and progressive style of football.

Just sick and tired of watching this team. The manager needs to be put out his misery in the next few weeks even if it’s just to get a bounce or reaction. Doesnt even matter at this stage if we don’t have the new manager in place yet. Continuing with this idiot Is just causing self inflicting damage.

Yeah that's the thing, they seemed to be actively playing for corners to swing in. Apart from the one chance immediately after half time where we completely switched off, set pieces were their only route.

Spurs were very open, some better decision making and we'd have put them away in the first half.

Gulf in the football being played by the two teams. Youd swear Conte was managing us and that Spurs had Michels.

Having said that we could have won.

Mainoo was poor today.

Yet again outplayed by a team, that had 6/7 first 11 out. Season is effectively over, unless we keep getting league 2 opposition in FA cup! One thing I do know that this team is going nowhere with ETH in charge, the football shows it, the table shows it. Whether he gets sacked now or end of season matters not.

Outplayed by a Spurs side, fecking embarrassing second half that. Bent over and pulled our cheeks apart within the first minute. Happens too often to be coincidence now.

Moments FC.

When are we actually going to get actual coachable players and/or a manager who can actually implement some kind of system?

Stop hating and start understanding football. We got lot more compact with him coming in instead of Eriksen.
We were only slightly less crap when Eriksen was subbed. Cannot blame McT for today’s performance, because he is not a player who will help us take control of midfield so I was not expecting anything from that sub, except maybe him getting in goal scoring positions.

It’s clear as day that the common theme to our awful performances is ETH and his coaching team. Each one of them should be sacked.

A very United performance.

Nobody in the squad seems capable or interested in having some midfield possession.

The lack of any real in-game match IQ is forever a concern.

But 2-2 against one of the best teams/manager in the world ain’t the worst result!

Even with a depleted lineup Spurs are still trying to play like the better sides, pressing, passing out from the back and aiming to dominate possession. We still look like we’re managed by Moyes, a point flattered us.

Same usual shit, cannot keep a lead. Rashford should have put well ahead but screws up every opportunity to score. Any midfielder can just walk into penalty box and score. I think we will finish this season in 8 place and we clearly belongs there with a fraud manager.

Can't wait to get outplayed at Molineux.

Can't think of any positive. Maybe Rashford back on the scoresheet.

Exactly .
We are utterly woeful. Less than the sum of our parts. We were passed around the whole game and lucky to get a draw.
That game has turned me to ETH out.
Playing like an away team at home to spurs who are missing their entire midfield and some of their front 3.

2 points dropped.
McT should have brought it home for us but other than that chance we didn’t offer much threat in the last 30 mins.

We had moments and did look dangerous a few times, but still midfield was dominated.
Bentancur strolled through when we should have been most alert.

Awb is just a nothing player, eriksen was bypassed and I'd like to see what mount can do in fernandes' position

Abject display in the second half. We have so few athletes in the team it's ridiculous. Most of our players can't cope with modern PL demands. Spurs pressed with 4 players while we pressed with two.

We are so poor in possession. The likes of AWB and McT can't play out of the press. Our wing play is non-existent. Spurs just having one player (Porro) being able to deliver a cross caused havoc. We have nothing from our wide areas. And the one cross Garnacho hit perfectly was wasted by McT.

18 months+ of EtH and we look the same side with slightly better pressing. The improvement isn't there. It's a failure of both the coaching staff and the recruitment.

Rashford should be benched. He is a fecking winger that never crosses and passes. With this mindset that he is Mbape trying to beat his markers and loses the ball all season long.

Eriksen is a pussy that cannot take any physical challenge

We need Casemiro instead of Eriksen asap.

We got destroyed in midfield. Everyone watching for the second half
