We did a few fun lists on these threads, I was on a nostalgic mood though and thought who we think is the best or would make the best team can be two different things so I wanted to ask who would make your starting 11 out of your favorite players, not necessarily the ones you would think were the best although that can of course overlap. I think it would make sense for favorite players to be the ones that got you most excited or ones who you just hold some kind of admiration or respect for, you choose your criteria! I could have easily made mine out of 11 players but decided to expand a little to make it more interesting.

Going to just leave it off my opinions at the time (hence Giggs) and not them being monsters outside of football. Hard to leave out Rooney or Keane here but didn't want to just go pure United players. Don't really have any big preference on RB's so Neville is on by default basically, was too young really to pay attention to Irwin's qualities and my main growing affection for United player years was 2000 and later basically.

There's going to be one guy in here who'll be very controversial, but I was a kid at the time and loved the guy. I had the same kind of hair and was a generational talent in the art of the two footed, crunching, barely legal tackle - and nothing else. Everyone called me .. Heinze.

Obviously looking back he was a twat who tried to force through a move to the Scouse of all places. But I'm gonna give this one to 13 year old me. As an aside I remember a heated debate lasting weeks with another United supporting mate over whether this useless Evra character would ever take his place.

Fair to say i lost that one pretty conclusively.

Tough to choose a striker. RVP, Ole, Chicharito or R9 could easily have gone in Ruud's place, but I just loved the guy growing up.

Could name a few more but this list is long enough! Some gentlemen in there, some nutters.
