Huge win by the Clippers.

Green was flexing his rings, that was so lame.

Klay coming on saying he is ready for lesser role and shit, pissed for not being out there closing few games back, then he makes a decision to foul there lul

Also heard that wild poorly worded commentary by RJ on a broadcast.

Klay is a flake, always has been a flake. When he was playing well it was kind of endearing (China Klay). Now instead of knocking down 3s without a second thought that lack of awareness is leading to missed shots and brain farts.

He is struggling with his ( current maybe ) reality, just cant deal with being down bad, crushing and burning, specially if you see some things he done/said while still being on top kinda, contrast is massive. He seems also highly emotional, dunno.

Warriors are 16-9 when Klay plays <30 mpg. They are 10-17 when he plays >30 mpg.

The problem is clear to everyone except Kerr and Klay. This is a Warriors team that should be in that top-4 in the Western conference but are actively being hampered because Klay can't see the reality.

He is still a NBA level player. EPM has him as the 130th best player in the NBA, which is still NBA starter level. It is definitely not worth the 12th highest salary and definitely not worth Klay chucking 15 shots on the alternate day when he can shoot.

Realistically, he should be playing 25 mpg for a contender, and if he wants to chuck, he should go to Wizards or Pistons. I don't know if Kerr has in it him to hold Klay accountable.

Did our best to blow another one but managed to hold on at the end.

Klay had his moments tonight. Trouble is that's exactly what they are - moments. Sometimes (rarely these days) he can get really hot (last five minutes of the 3rd) other times he can't hit anything (the entire 4th quarter). Still we won and we go into the all star break with a winning record.

I’ll get onto the game in a minute, but is anyone noticing a really weird lag in basketball data/stats online lately? Google, nba.com, and the warriors app all seem to have huge delays in updating box scores, or scores, or sometimes just provide no information while a game is going on. The box score on nba.com now is all zeroes.

is my phone basketball allergic or is anyone else experiencing this?

exit: checked my laptop and it’s the same

The NBA app I have on TV updates almost immediately. The ESPN Warriors box score the same. It's you Charlie, you're cursed. :)

NBA.com is infuriating. They show me the live box scores before refreshing to show the pre-game stats for feck knows what reason. It was much better 10 years ago when it actually did what it was supposed to do.

What is your updated opinion on Scoot and would you still take him as high or you would go for someone else?

I just saw Doc Rivers post game press conference. Is the man completely mad or is he stupid? He barely joined the team as the head coach and he is already throwing players under the bus.

Triple-Double and 10 blocks. Christ.
First time a rookie has done that since 1990.

He's doing all this playing for a shite Spurs team with no real PG.

Just end the dunk contest. This judging is stupid
The highlight of the night was the 3pt contest between Steph and Sabrina. Very impressed with Ionescu especially since she shot from the regular NBA 3 point line as opposed to the closer WNBA distance. Interesting to note that both of them matched or bettered every competitor in the actual 3 point contest. Dame Lillard should have to give his trophy back.

All Star is pure grief, holy shit, dunno where to start, its not even funny let entertaining, just wasting time and energy. Ant shooting with left hand only, dunk contest still a shitter (thx Wade), Kenny yapping about Sabrina and from where she should shoot a ball, all star game will be a joke on a circus level again, argh.

The 3 point contest between Steph and Sabrina couldn't have turned out any better. If she was confident shooting from the NBA distance (and she was) that is what she should have done. This way she proved man or woman, boy or girl, if you can shoot it doesn't make a damn bit of difference who you are.

What a joke the all star game is. Why even bother with it when clearly no one gives a feck

I like the idea of doing an America vs Rest of the World match instead. It’d be way more competitive

The past 5/6 years it’s been shocking, it’s basically a glorified shootaround, at least it use to be one half of messing about and the second half was actually competitive, which made it great to watch.

Someone floated the idea of a 3on3 tournament with bigger cash money prizes for the winning team.

I think players are worried about getting injured. Might be worth having it at the end of the season perhaps.

It's like those charity football games where no one puts in a tackle apart from that one guy

I hoped for a discount but didn't expect that much. He freed a lot of money for either keeping both Morris and Anderson or replace them adequately.

I have to admit I have watched very little NBA this year, however from the little I've seen of Scoot he's going to need a couple of years to develop before I can realistically assess him. He's shown glimpses of quality talent and has been much more consistent lately after a super patchy start so things are getting better.

Wolves salary cap is bloated anyway with Gobert, Towns and Edwards, so unless Towns is being traded (doubt it) there won't be much room to sign free agents. Most likely will end up in luxury tax.

The point is about managing the tax. The Wolves will be a luxury tax team for the next couple of years, the question is whether they want to be a second apron team and how much the owners are willing to pay if/when they are. Also teams can extend their own players which is the other key point, if the owners want they can pay Morris(they have his Birds rights) and Anderson, and Conley discount help mitigate the extra cost.

True. The new CBA is much more tricky, and 'good' contracts are more valuable than they ever were.

Which I like from a Blazers fan point of view, as we are going to be building mostly through draft for the next 3-4 years, having those cheap rookie contracts will be so valuable. With Warriors struggling, the pick they will owe to us this year could very well land in 11-20 range rather than 21-30 we expected.

And if you tear things down, you could also exploit teams that need to get rid of bad or "useless" contracts. On that note do you think that the Blazers will trade the likes of Grant, Brogdon and Simmons? None of them seem to fit with Scoot's timeline and in the case of Simmons I saw many Blazers fans suggest that Simmons and Scoot weaknesses are amplified when they are together on the court.

As an outsider I would assume that currently your future core would be Henderson, Walker and Sharpe plus whoever you draft in the next couple of years.

I think Simons is fine to keep as a sixth man. Brogdon I expected to be on the market at deadline, now his value is going to go down considerably, and Grant is on a 5-year contract so almost certain to be traded at some point.

Exactly, it turned into win win in few ways but Kenny had to be weird about it and then tried to defend it with "she uses wnba size ball right, then logically..." . 3pt shooting contest in general can not miss imo, as a event that is.

He can't be paid enough

And the next decent thing ye can do is get him a ring
I couldn't agree more. He is an absolute class act and despite his old age, he is still a very influential and consistent starter.

It's just sad watching Klay. He can occasionally rediscover what he used to be but those occasions are becoming less and less frequent.

1/9 from the field. Steph again had a good game and thankfully no 4th quarter choke.

Seems like Klay played well assisting TJD even though he shot badly again.

I'm glad I'm only half paying attention to this game because it has been awful. Both teams. Just awful.

Wembanyama with a 5x5 game vs Lakers, and is only the second rookie ever to do it. Also, the only player since Michael Jordan himself to get 5 steals and 5 blocks in consecutive games.

Also
