Reducing gate fees for fans coming to cheer on their team and provide the atmosphere that is attractive on TV?

More down the pyramid?

Grassroots development of talent and coaching?

The women's game?

If you think that all will be ignored and it'll go into the owners pockets then fair enough
Why can't all of that happen now? A genuine question btw. There's a lot of money in football.

Of course football should have salary cap and players should get their wages reduced by 50-75%. There is no logic at all that players earn what they earn right now. It is mind boggling how much money they earn when you consider what job they do. So even if you reduces wages by 50-75% they will still be able to get pretty much what they want and be rich. What football have become is rich mans game. Sadly when we consider who football was for.

Problems are politics and rules. But if there is a will, there is a way. Premier League, if they want, could do something about it now that GreatBritain is not in EU and can make up their own rules.

What major player came through "the lower leagues"

Sorry but people pay to watch the best footballer play the game.
Les Ferdinand & Ian Wright? Were they major players?

Why do they have to be major players? There's loads of other players who came up through the lower leagues to the PL. Here's just a few, John Stones, Benhrama, Watkins, Joe Hart, Vardy, Smalling, Bullard, Aribo, Ashley Williams, Kilman, Steve Finnan, Bowen, Antonio, Vinnie Jones, Glenn Murray, Charlie Austin, Kevin Phillips.

Some of these examples are forty years old ffs!

Also - Said Benhrama? Didn't he play for Nice?

At the end of the day, most pros now are paid because the product they're a part of is popular. This is why people don't pay money to watch Sunday League. I can't believe this is a controversial statement.

What problem does a salary cap solve other than letting the owners hoard more wealth?

So what if he did or if they are old. You asked a question and got an answer. You don't like it, I don't really care.

Because it doesn't disprove my point. It's a handful of players over a 40 year span which includes like 1000 players, it's a not a huge consideration.
