Do City leave you cold?

I'm genuinely bored - struggling to get excited or feel passionate about the game. We are shite and they are financial cheats.
Having City is actually a good thing for United fans at the moment. We are bad and in normal circumstances, Liverpool would have overtaken our record of league trophies already. It’s City who is protecting our record until we sort ourselves out. And whatever trophies City win, it’s all hollow anyway as people say. So wouldn’t hurt us.

We have a big cheating juggernaut guarding our record from Liverpool until we manage to wake up from our slumber, and whatever trophies they win wouldn’t matter anyway. Isn’t that a good thing?

I'm not sure if cold, but I never watch them unless they are playing United. I watch Liverpool, Arsenal, etc...all other teams I 'don't like' but not City. I have zero interest in them.

Actually no. Taking City out of it we both have 3 more titles. United (11-12, 17-18 and 20-21), Liverpool (13-14, 18-19 and 21-22). Shows that while we have definitely been run into the ground by the parasites, our record wouldn't seem quite as bad if it weren't for the cheating shits.

When Ferguson took over, Liverpool had 16 titles and we had 7. So a difference of 9.

If/when City win the league this year they'll be 12 behind us. Obviously not comparable circumstances, and I'm not claiming they are, but I think peoples' complacency might begin to creep up on them eventually... if the Premier League still exists, that is.

I have nothing against City. They just go about their way quietly. It will not last forever.

Nah, take Way City's money and United have 3 more titles for starters, so would still be ahead of Liverpool and that's before you consider where City's players would have ended up instead.

Pretty sure United would have been the destination for some of City's signings. Possibly the current manager as well, though whether United could have offered him the levels of cheating and corruption he needs to succeed make it less likely.

Without City the entire footballing landscape changes. The only thing that would have remained as consistent as it is now is that City would have been just as small time.

Doesn't he do this every season? Begging for support when you've just won the treble.
Genuinely thinks he hates City, hates that he's there, knows it's a sham but is also a natural cheat and can't help himself.

For someone who has dominated and won everything, he has never looked happy at City. If anything he's turned angry and bitter.

Hope he writes a book about it one day.

Sadly records can't be re-written, in 2 decades when they've overhauled United noone will care how they won their titles. I mean we have members here making excuses for Chelsea cheating their way to their titles in the 00s. People in 25 years, ie born today, won't care.

The only way to stop this is the 115 charges sticking, which let's face we all know will never do. These laws are only meant to stick for smaller clubs. Every title win City have had has been doped up.

Champions of England, Europe and the World…

… And nobody noticed

This should be a team of legend, but it’s so easy to miss everything they do because nobody is watching

As much as it would hurt to see Liverpool or Arsenal with that success, at least it would mean something and protect the legacy of footballs biggest prizes

2 hours after becoming champions of the world, the BBC lead headline was Aston Villa salvaging a draw against Palace

I had no idea they were in the club world cup
Nobody did. I only knew because I saw something on Twitter

Really hope they’re justly punished when that time comes. People will lose interest in football if this is allowed to carry on and the biggest prizes stay a side show

If they weren’t such a dirty cheating shower of cnuts you’d nearly feel sorry for them. Imagine winning a treble and nobody even caring. Imagine having a group of players and a manager that didn’t even know the club existed 20 years ago. It’s truly embarrassing for them.

Folk can claim “irrelevance” and “plastic club” as a form of coping, but the record books and “impartial” outfits like the BBC already talk about their making history. The record books will confirm it.

If they actually face sanction for the 115 charges, the record books will remain. Even Juventus’ and Marseille’s records still stand.

Should they be found guilty, I hope a song is created that will sung as frequently as “Old Trafford is falling down…” to remind them every game they are cheats.

I’d actually forgotten they played in that competition. No one cares unless a proper big historic club is there. And even then it’s meh at best

They're still in a comparable position to what they were in at this stage last season, but they're not really bullying the rest of the league anymore and I don't recall the last time their GD was third this far into the season -- or even the last time they weren't runaway ahead in terms of GD. Rarely this season has it felt like they're a level above everyone else.

I've even just had a look and since Christmas we've scored the same number of league goals as them. Perhaps reading too much into a post Club World Cup couple months of form (and if they eventually do overcome the simultaneous charges of both Arsenal and Liverpool it'll be impressive) but at the moment despite their position I'm not fearing them as some unstoppable force, as opposed to recent years.

Everything they’ve “achieved” and everything they’ve “won” is essentially irrelevant so no, I don’t feel much of anything towards them. A bit of pity maybe, because they think they know what’s it’s like to be a big success club, but they don’t.
