Should managers only be allowed to move during transfer windows?

I'd be in favor. Shouldn't be able to destabilize a team completely because you fecked up, went to hire some other manager and then ruin their season possibly.

I’ve long thought this would be a good idea. Pleased to see it being discussed. I’d also restrict it to one window a season. No more of this few games in charge oops we made a mistake nonsense.
Same, been thinking it for ages. I think it should be summer window only.

Of course clubs could still sack a manager if things were toxic, they would just have to replace internally. Clubs would be smarter about having a contingency in the coaching staff or perhaps occasionally even a senior player.

Removes some of the short term drama/pressure that can be a slippery slope and gives players less 'downing tools' power (whether you believe in that or not)

I wouldn’t even allow that tbh. It would be a very select and serious cause (health problem, family issue, illegality) for that to be permitted. They must lie in the beds they make!

That's the crux of it for me.

I do like the idea of rewarding clubs who's managerial appointments are more process driven and less knee jerk based on the last 5 games.

You can buy and sell players all year, but they can only do the move inside transfer windows.
If you want to terminate someone's contract, that is different and you can do it whenever. Not sure about the legal stuff (if technically a player can refuse to leave on the day).

It's rare to see clubs having a new manager in place before the old one is sacked. I am guessing EPL can't decide their own rules for how they treat employees, so what will actually change? Do they believe that they can't get sacked outside windows, or that it won't happen because they can't be replaced outside window?
