First 100k all seater stadium?
Both the Universities have got Sports campuses in the Manchester student village area and Uof M in particular is going to make a huge amount of money over the next 40 -50 years from it's specialist graphene knowledge.
They have to provide sports resources but currently they might be seen as a waste of resources as they aren't in full time use. I can see both universities wanting to sell up the land they are currently using as sports campuses or redeveloping the land into lucrative developments like other specialist campus buildings/faculty or even just more student accomodation/office space would generate more revenue that the sports campus does.
They could then utilise the new combined "sports campus" surrounding the new stadium site as a centre of excellence for both and start to rival Loughborough as the place for sports related qualifications.
That's only a part of it. I posted earlier Peel Holdings were deeply disliked by a lot of people, they have truly massive developments and take no notice of local interest at all unless they're mad to, they are motivated by profit alone.
But they get things done, buying and managing land, and the finance behind it, and dealing with the local authorities is their thing.
It will be the most beautiful, excellent, fantastic, tremendous stadium the world has ever seen. Believe me.

I think 90k. A 100k stadium with bigger seats and extra legroom would have a crazy footprint. Personally I'd like them to use the 80s Stretford End as a reference. I mean a different roof perhaps a tad slopping down and slightly variation in height but it doesn't have to be single tiered (nee SE) and the rest of the stadium a horse shoe three or four tier.

It'll entirely hinge on what they do with the freight terminal but if they just use the land we've got and they rotate the pitch 90 degrees and move it slightly north east for the new ground then I want all the credit.
Seems like a lot of hot air to me. The task force currently consists of Lord Coe, Andy Burnham, Gaz, some academics, a fans group member, and Trafford Council CEO Sara Todd.

What is the BBC doing here? The best people for the job were chosen. Elected officials are elected by a multi-racial public. Seb Coe is a legend. Gary Neville a very successful, local businessman and United legend. Racism can only be accused if the people chosen were all of similar backgrounds. If that - in their opinion - is “whiteness”, then they are deluded as feck.
I think criticising the task force for being ‘too white’ and not properly representative of the community around OT is one thing (not necessarily saying I agree) but claiming that it is ‘institutionally racist’ is a completely different proposition, and utterly groundless. If I was member of the task force I’d be consulting my lawyer.
