    Evans out apparently
    FFS.

Just one hit after another. I accept losing to the likes of City and Liverpool at the moment as it's what to expect after years of being run so comparatively poor (us) and efficiently (them).

But the constant injuries denying us anything close to our first choice options time and time again is just such an extra layer of frustration.

We're not where we should be, and that's on us - but we'd be a damn sight better off if we weren't getting hit with injuries left, right and centre. The build up to every game is just 'who's got injured this week!?' :(

Seriously. It’s a new injury every week. It’s ridiculous. No wonder we’ve struggled.

Don't know why they played such a strong line up today, but that bodes well for us, their big players will be knackered. Feeling more confident now seeing that.

Not sure about that. They were 4-0 up in about five mins. If anything looks like the match acted as more or less a training session. Salah got some goals after a spell out too.

Same as what you are doing in this post?
    Strange reply.

I’m neither delirious nor moaning about the prospect that should we beat Liverpool 8-0, which is highly unlikely, that the reaction here would much more like delirium — or perhaps better put, extremely positive — rather than moaning. I could be wrong, but that’s my speculation.

I’m quite sure I will be very pleased rather than moaning with rage should we beat them regardless of the actual score.

Anything can happen in a one-off cup game. If we manage to win, this would give us momentum for the rest of the season to play for CL places. EtH needs to do some magic here.

They came to the game cocky as feck, expecting another 7 and started getting frustrated in the first 15 minutes.
Agree a little with this, it reminded me of us going into the CL final against Madrid as clear favourites, only to come unstuck against a dogged defense.

I think that we will have learnt from the last game to be honest. I can still see it being tighter than most predict, with us winning by a couple of second half goals.

You will shrink at OT like last year and get done 2-1.

Quite a few media outlets such as F365 are making a big deal of Liverpool's injury hit squad, fair enough, but not ours? Why is that?
Either way, the scousers will have to seriously underperform for us to win this game but the bias in coverage is startling.

A narrative of "Liverpool have injuries and still play the same way while dominating City" is more attractive than "Utd play like shit because they have injuries".

Ah yeah I totally get that but why not even mention United have a serious amount of injuries? Reading the F365 preview you would swear we were at full strength going up a plucky Liverpool side punching above its weight.

There's an obvious narrative about how both sides are in the midst of an injury crisis with one performing much better than the other - probably due to the Klopp v Ten Hag factor.

Our results at Old Trafford against Klopp's Liverpool aren't even that bad. Of course, we got that 5-0 spanking, but that's only one result. We actually have more wins than losses at home vs. Liverpool in that period.

Yes, we are underdogs, but it's not unthinkable that we pull out a result. It's just unfurtonate that a draw is basically a loss, because it means we have to go to Anfield, where our chances are extremely slim.

With no replays, a draw just means ET and penalties at Old Trafford.

Our record in penalty shoot outs is dire and Liverpool's is probably the best of any club side in the world. I can't remember them losing one.

Oh, I thought that wasn't until the semi-finals. Well, then our chances are a bit better.
It started with the SF and Finals. But there's been no QF replays since about 2016, and then they were dropped for the 5th round a few years ago as well. There's talk that from next season it might also be extended to the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Our medical and fitness teams deserve the sack if rumours are right and we’ve sustained more injuries. Now with Evans out.

ETH basically admitted that their high intensity training style is responsible for injuries. If you have a sketchy second 11, can you really afford to train and play this way on top of a really bad pre-season?

We need to seriously feck over their season. Ours is all but done but we could have a huge say in how Klopp's farewell tour goes.

Expecting us to be played off the park a la City games but I honestly don't care how many players we end up with, just derail their league campaign. Please please show some fecking bite in a big game for once.

Having Rasmus and AWB back make me a bit more confident. We can not go into another game with Lindelof or Amrabat as a LB. It’s been awful. We’ll play Dalot there and AWB at RB.

Casemiro can't play in a team that beats the EPL top three.
He'll be fine in a counter attacking unit. The problem is when we attempt to attack and the others bypass our press and get a run at our defenders / DMs.

Actually I think with less suicidal tactics he might be ok even in such a situation. He won't have as much trouble as he does now if he was playing for one of Pool / City / Arsenal.

He's put in performances this season that make it look like he can't play in a team that beats the bottom three.

Needs to be shifted in the summer.

Yet he can win the CL year after year with Madrid. His performances this season have been a problem but I think that’s down to how ETH sets up. He has his DM running forward which leaves us vulnerable at the back.

    Legs have gone/are going too.

He was garbage against Everton, and that wasn't because of our system, but because he couldn't pass the ball to any of his teammates.
