I'm still in disbelief. I've calmed down but still feel a new manager is absolutely the number one priority for the new owners. Surely Ten Hag knows he is a goner.

The Premier League season is essentially over for us. Now, all we have to do is focus on trying to win the cup and bid farewell to Ten Haag in a positive manner.

Casemiro was poor tonight. Varane with his injury record has to be on thin ice too.
That's the frustrating thing, we bought some ACTUAL winners of big trophies to help this under-achieving team out and yet, it's not worked and they'll need to be replaced. Nearly a hundred million gone right there. Great players but not ones for the future.

Aye, the general feeling seems to me that it's something of a fait accompli, regardless of whether you're ETH in or out. All we're missing is the formal press release.

The only curse on ETH is the one he put on himself for deciding to play this suicidal style of football every game.
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory with stupid af decisions on and off the pitch.

At the end of the day, what kind of a sort of absolute dickhead would think that putting McTominlay and Rashford on as subs when you need to defend was a sensible idea. Let’s face it, Rashford isn’t keen on working hard in defence and McTom is McTom.

ETH has passed his use by date, and the club and team needs fresh ideas and eyes, this is not the Eredevise where there are games you can walk around on the field and still win, looks like the EPL is above his station.

I’ve seen a lot of poor performances, but this is one of the worst I’ve seen. Completely lost our heads when we were in the driver seat and looking to close the gap for champions league football. Let’s face it this lot don’t deserve it bar a few players like hojlund, garna and Mainoo.
ETH has his fate sealed for sure now. I’m guessing they will continue on with him through the end of the season with everything lined up for a new manager the minute we have no matches left .

There are certain people that they don't have a clue how to play, or just don't have it in them to play in these type of situations....That was embarrassing." - John Tortorella.

The words from that massive character of a hockey coach uttered 2 days ago applies to how I feel about the players and the manager right now. Purge the entire lot already. I just want violence to erupt at Carrington starting tomorrow.
It’s honestly scary how much that quote applies to us.

Well that was quite an amazing experience to see us play live for the first time.

As I was in the West stand, I couldn't celebrate when we scored but two United fans close to me did and both got hurled with dogs' abuse then summarily kicked out of the grounds.
.
My wife, who loves Chelsea begged for us to leave in extra time so we left with about 3-4 minutes left, but you could feel the pressure was building.

Then, as we walked towards Fulham Broadway, I heard two loud roars within a very short interval, and realised what had happened, so it looks like divine intervention spared me.

As for our performance, the cutbacks were hilariously predictable, every time Bruno and Case were on the ball my blood pressure increased immediately, and I can confirm that the long-standing conjecture that we have a gaping hole in the middle of the pitch is in fact correct.

We’ve needlessly dropped 8 points to Fulham, Brentford and Chelsea. Absolutely shambolic, we are by far the dumbest team in the league.

Getting rid of Fred, signing Amrabat on loan, and Casemiro's fall from grace has been collectively disastrous.

I know Fred was poor the season before he was sold but nowhere near as bad in the middle as what we are lumbered with now. It is not just the cutbacks and inability to defend them but the sheer lack of workrate. At the very least, Fred gave us that.

Never seen a more troubled “top club” in recent times than United where majority of the players and the manager seem unsuitable to play the game at this level.

Although the tactical naivety and open midfield approach is the most worrying.

*I suppose Chelsea would be facing a similar issue

How many calamity losses / draws this season? It’s truly amazing ways in which they find ways to lose. Winning in the 99th minute and you end up losing, that is genuinely unheard of. Brentford game we score a 96th minute winner and end up drawing.

Look at the way we lost at Arsenal, Copenhagen, drew at Galatasaray - what’s next? Can only think Coventry are going to beat us at Wembley.

I knew this was coming when they introduced the crazy added time. I have never seen such a weak mentality at a big club.

Never seen 2 most ridiculous penalty decisions in one match. Our players gets hacked chainsawed grabbed pushed everyone everywhere will make the most ridiculous excuses why they were not given. Var is not about being fair anymore it’s about who they want to win or lose.

now that’s over with something needs to chance in our team. Can’t always blame the manager. Rashy was walking around no intention to run chase or try. I’m tired of this

ETH would be sacked on the spot if that happened…or at least I hope

I honestly don't know what to feel right now. Or maybe I just don't feel, and rightly so. I want to back the manager. I want to back the players. But what I see doesn't invite backing. The last two games have shown me that we need to sell the lot - they've all been infected by whatever it is that causes this. Manager? Out. Players? Out. Either they don't belong here or they can fund the new roster. One thing is certain, I do not trust a single one of them to win any game against any opponent.

Tactically, was anyone else surprised we didn't put AWB on the left to mark up Palmer as we did with Salah in the FA Cup?

I felt like Palmer was an obvious candidate for that sort of treatment

We blew a 2-0 lead against Newport and nearly fell behind - anything is possible.

Sad ending to a match where both sides were trying to give it away :(

We have no idea howto protect a lead. Unlucky penalty decisions IMHO. Got lucky with the gift goal. Happy that Bruno and Antony were able to contribute. Not fair to Dalot because he’s being played at LB…

We just gave up 5 points in about 3 mins of late game time over two matches. All that's left this year is a chance of the Cup and stopping Liverpool....that is what we're reduced to now. Seems like the late 70s again. Hard to find much solace, and I know the idea of sacking ETH creates the impression of 'doing something' but I actually want to start with some of the players.

Need to get rid of 7 players and bring in quality players, but who could trust Ten Hag in the transfer market?

VAR screwed us. If they don’t spend 5 mins looking at that pen then it never goes into the 100th minute and we don’t concede the 4th!

One of the main criticisms of ETH is his brainless tactics and lack of adjusting mid game. Something that early on he looked like he could do but has failed miserably at this year. In fact we've done worse after a lot of his changes including yesterday.

Just occurred to me that after looking likely winners having done well to come back from a miserable start…we introduced Rashford and Mctominay

just sayin’

The same philosophy saw us bringing on attacking subs to win the game against Liverpool but we didn't have our noses ahead then I guess.

Anyone able to explain how if the city/Liverpool kick in the chest isn’t a pen, but that Dalot one was? Daft call that to me

Lost for words really. That's the season done in the league, I'd be tempted to bed in a few of the youngsters, maybe try play Antony into form (he was a positive last night).

I worry for this summer because it's clear we need to be ruthless in terms of getting rid of some players but I don't think we have the wriggle room with FFP to adequately replace them.

You have to hope Casemiro was injured last night or carrying a knock, because that's the worst piece of defending in terms of effort I've seen from an individual at United. Rashford 2nd, he came on with a strop and put in no effort.

Also it was a clear pen. You only have to look at Dalot's reaction to know it. He has to swallow his pride there, he gets beaten - it happens - but he charges back trying to make up for it and trips him. He should have brought him down outside the box if there was an opportunity but you can't just charge into the back of him in desperation to save face for getting beaten by a winger. He'll learn from it but it was poor.

One positive. Really don't think people appreciate how good Garnacho is for his age.
Well said.
The young man is relentless in his running at defenders.
Ok. He might make a few mistakes.
But I would have him in my team every day over Rashford.

Some thoughts

  1. Starting Antony and benching Rashford was a good decision. Rashford should have stayed on the bench
  2. Everybody's talking about Onana should have saved the first Chelsea goal from Gallagher, and he probably should have, but before the whole opportunity got created because Dalot was shit in midfield and too slow to track back. Garnacho walking back and not helping him out wasn't a great sight either
  3. There was no penalty on Cucurella and the ref and VAR were absolute cnuts
  4. Garnacho's first goal showed a lot of skill, maturity, and absolute ice in veins. Kid is great talent, no doubt about it
  5. Ref and VAR had to be blind to give penalty for the Dalot no-contact blunder. It was criminal
  6. Palmer should play lottery. He got hat trick out of literal nothing. Two penalties that should not have been, and McT deflection

We got robbed and it also wasn't our day. Possibly one of the most disappointing games of this season, but now that emotions have settled - far from our worst performance. Probably would have gone down as a decent performance, for most of the team, if the ref wasn't such cnut and if we were a bit luckier
