Apart from Andy Carroll who's worth £100m, that is.

I'd say there are few players who would be worth that kind of money in my view. Apart from obvious ones like Messi and Ronaldo, I'd say Iniesta is definitely worth that much and so is Torres (well, he goes for that as well).

Then you have some players who might or might not be worth that much - Sneijder for example, but I'm not too sure. Xavi would be worth much more if it hadn't been for his age, he doesn't have much left at this level. Rooney, if he could find his form would probably fetch that much but it's doubtful at the minute. Fabregas is definitely worth £40m+.

Can't see many more. No one at Chelsea or City is worth that kind of money, Bayern have Robben but he's a £30m player at most, Gareth Bale isn't worth £40m and neither is Modric.

Nani will be in that bracket of players in a year or two, if he continues his development.

The price of PL footballers hasn't increased inline with the increase in revenues and competition for players.

Get used to it.

Bale would certainly fetch 40m you would think. I reckon he'd prove worth it over a few years...

I don't think Torres is worth that much. Berbatov 30m, David Villa 34m. Torres is not worth 40m.

Messi and Ronaldo. That's it. No one else is worth that much money.

I don't understand such statements, tbh.

They are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. How one feels about the matter is irrelevant.
If I were in charge, I wouldn't be willing to pay that money. Ergo, I don't feel anyone else but Messi or Ronaldo worth it. That's the answer I give to the OP. It's not about some facts or anything.

A can filled with human shit is worthless but someone produced it, call it art and sold it for 10,000. I don't think it's worth 10,000.

I don't think anyone but Messi or Ronaldo is worth that much money because for someone to be worth that much he must at least break even. Messi and Ronaldo can transform teams into superpowers. They are that good. And they will perform consistently and their injury record shows that they aren't prone to sit in the stands. These kind of performances sell shirts, get TV deals and most importantly win titles. With Torres, does he really provide that extra 50m needed to do all that? No. His current owner just got that much money that 50m is a figure he doesn't notice if absent from his cash wad in his wallet.
