Skizzo Tactics

Formation: 4411

A fairly self-explanatory approach with classic United players, built around giving Sir Bobby a free role behind the striker. He’d play his natural game and drop deep to get involved, and with both Charlton and Robson streaming forward, it would cause problems to pick up for the defense.

Classic wingers in Becks and Giggs to stretch the flanks, with the combination of pace and pinpoint passing that drove United to success for years.

Beckham supported on the right with the overlapping Neville, rekindling their partnership down the flank. Beckham will also tuck in centrally to allow Robson to bomb forward, knowing he’s covered by Stiles as well.

Rio and McGrath form a solid partnership at the back, and anchored by Schmeichel in goal.

Those deliveries with RVN, Charlton, and Robson running into the box. Plus McGrath and Rio coming up for corners and set pieces

Enigma_87 Tactics

Formation: 4-3-3
Defence:
Moore
bosses the defence in his natural role, paired with van Dijk forming a scary partnership at the back, as this is van Dijk before the injury having pace on the deck and really strong in challenge. The flanks are occupied by Andy Brehme who is a very viable route to goal with his crossing for Muller in the box. Actually the two Mullers in the box. On the right we have Gerets who is another one who can boss an entire flank and has the stamina to keep going all game.

Midfield:
Bernd Schuster
is in deep playmaking role, initiating the attacks from deep and in playing in a holding role in front of the defence. Alongside him is Davids who plays his natural defensive box to box role. Overath is the advanced midfielder who will link with the attack but also combine with Schuster forming a natural partnership in possession.

Attack:
Spearheading the attack is probably the greatest #9 in the game - Gerd Muller. A matchwinner on his own he is assisted by Rob Rensenbrink - the Dutch wingforward who was one of the best in his role in the 70's and Thomas Muller who will break the lines and open up passing alleys with his movement.

Couple of all touches comps from Overath.
A cagey affair and generally a physical pokal final. Overath played in a similar role as the most advanced midfielder in 4-3-3.
You can see easily that he was a very rapid player with good first step acceleration. On top of that he had very good work rate as well, intercepting a lot of passes and reading the game well. He also tracked back and blocked couple of crosses in the second.

Unfortunately filmed with a potato but some very direct plays and showcases change of pace and again his work rate.

And an overall comp.
