Van Nistelrooy retires
The racehorse named after Ruud, Van Nistelrooy, has been retired from racing due to injury, it was announced on Monday.
The horse was the most expensive yearling in the world in 2001, and won his first three races.
Van Nistelrooy has not raced since finishing fifth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Arlington Park last October, and will travel to New Zealand early next month.
