Reserves match moved

Thursday night's Manchester Senior Cup tie between United and Bury will now take place at the Cliff training ground, kicking off at 7pm.

Brian McClair's side were supposed to travel to Radcliffe Borough to face the Shakers, but heavy rain prompted a late switch of venue.

United will look to continue the fine form which has prompted a charge to the top of their Senior Cup group.

Tom Heaton continues in goal, behind a defence of Danny Simpson, Kieran Lee, Michael Lea and Conor McCormack.

Floribert Ngalula continues his comeback from injury in midfield, alongside Lee Martin, Jamie Mullan and Chris Eagles, with Antonio Bryan and Sean Evans upfront.

The Reds have just four substitutes, with Corry Evans, Lee Crockett, Oliver Norwood and Matthew James on the bench.

P.s. where are Burns, Barnes, Marsh and R. Jones?
On their way out on loan?

Ruud ftw
Is Ritchie Jones still at Colchester?

I'd be surprised if this goes ahead if this wind keeps up, it'd make it a total farce.

Wind seems to have eased off a bit anyway, should be playable now.

Senior Cup tie rearranged

Last week's postponed Manchester Senior Cup tie between Bury and United has been rearranged to take place on Thursday, 25 January.

The Shakers will make the short trip across the north west to United's Carrington training ground for the tie, which will kick off at 2pm.

The encounter was initially scheduled to take place last Thursday, only for traffic congestion to lead to a late postponement.

Team news will appear first on ManUtd.com.

From manutd.com:
Reserves: United 1 Bury 0

Chinese striker Dong Fangzhuo completed 90 minutes for the Reserves on Thursday afternoon as the Reds ran out 1-0 winners against Bury.

United defender Michael Lea scored the winning goal with ten minutes remaining.

Dong played the full game and had a good chance in the final five minutes which was well saved by goalkeeper Aaron Grundy.

The Bury stopper was in inspired form to keep the scoreline down as United improved on a scrappy first-half to control the play after the break.

There were few goalscoring chances for the Reds in the first 45 minutes, with Chris Eagles - possibly United's liveliest player - seeing a good shot saved by Grundy.

After the interval Eagles was denied twice in quick succession.

But the goal that United's second-half play deserved finally arrived as Lea, unmarked from an Eagles corner, scrambled home his finish.
