Since there wasn't really a general cycling thread as far as I know, I thought I'd create one.

I saw one of the most epic cycling races today. The legendary cobblestone classic Paris-Roubaix has been won by Tom Boonen. After reaching or breaking the record number of wins for the E3-Prijs, Ghent-Wevelgem and the Tour of Flanders during the last few weeks, he now has the record for the most Paris-Roubaix wins as well.

And not just that, he won his fourth in an impressive way, by going alone almost 60km before the end and holding off an initial 16 cyclists behind him. Team Sky was riding with 4 for 30km and couldn't get near to him.

Great sport day today

This is some footage of the Tour of Flanders, also known for its cobblestones, but in combination with a lot of (cobblestone) hills as well.

Next few weeks, the hilly climbing races (Amstel Gold Race, Fleche Wallonne, Liege-Bastogne-Liege) start and then it's on to the Giro d'Italia.
