We suffer from a lack of winners

I think Ole is very lucky that we don't have a team of winners, we have a talented group of youngsters but much like Spurs under Poch, not having anyone in the team who's really been there and done it works in his favour as they won't stand up and say the manager isn't good enough. Most of them are just happy to be playing premier league football for Manchester United.

Likewise, if we had a manager who has won before, they could go to the well and draw on that experience. They would know what and who it would take to get us to where we need to be. When we lose, it's always the usual spiel, 'we weren't good enough', 'we can't keep defending the way we did', 'we need to take our chances'. For some of that you can look at the players not doing their jobs, but ultimately is has to be manager and coaching staff that takes responsibility for not setting up the team correctly and coaching them well enough to not make those mistakes.

We will beat most the teams who we are supposed to beat, but will always fall short at major hurdles.

Combine both with a board who don't have the foggiest idea of how to win, we won't be where we all want to be for a long while. Maybe even longer than Liverpool's 30 years.
