Back when United first starting fielding youth players. etc for the League Cup, we were villified for it. The press had a field day, as did all of the usual second rate washed up pundits.

So, who do I hear on Radio 5 the other day, but Graham 'Turnip' Taylor, marvelling at the wonderful insight of Wenger, because he had, wait for it, played youth team players in the League Cup, in order to give them valuable playing experience! :devil: :mad:

Bit like when Fergie suggested that we should have a winter break a few seasons ago - everyone whinged about it including :wenger: but the next season when :wenger: suggested it everyone sounded all for it...

Getting quite used to it now !! The same story a few seasons ago, SAF claiming that we were unfairly punished for being successful and having to play a lot of games in a very short period at the end of the season. Then everybody ridiculing him just because he asked for an extension to the league to help us in europe. (the same help for europe the fa promised but never delivered - shock) !!
Low and behold :houllier: & :wenger: (after telling SAF to get on with it and stop crying) started whinging themselves about the very same thing when it happened to them !! :rolleyes: :boring:
At least :houllier: doesn't have to worry about it anymore, they are generally out of contention for most trophies come Feb !!
