Why did they pick him for this test .

Considering bowling is the one functional area of the England side, they have made a right pig’s ear of selections and bowler management this tour. Not playing Anderson and Broad in tandem on the correct pitches, dropping Wood and Leach for the dry pitch, bowling Stokes into injury with short ball theory rubbish, playing Woakes when he’s always been crap in Australia.

Madness isn't it.

The worst part of this whole debacle is that we've actually had English conditions for the majority of the tour.

The conditions in Brisbane, Melbourne and Hobart couldn't have been more favourable if we'd prepared the pitches ourselves.

And yet we've still managed to pick the wrong team and bowl the wrong lengths.

It's like we've lost 3-0 (possibly 4-0) at home!

And now we're playing Wood on a green seamer when he gets injured all the time and we need him for WI!!!

Selection has been pretty poor for a while now but in this series it's sunk to a new low.

Don't even see the point in recalling Pope and Woakes. Why bother taking Lawrence and Overton there if dropped and unfit players still get another chance ahead of them?
Woakes is a strange one, his record is consistently abysmal away from home. Overton has quality and potential but he's spent so much time carrying drinks which can't be good for his development.

Tbh I'm not sold on Overton. He's a bit of a standard English medium-pacer. Not fast, doesn't swing it and doesn't get much seam movement. Like an inferior version of Robinson really (although he's a good all-round cricketer).

Woakes probably won't play another away series now. He'll be a home specialist like Axar is for India.

For me Overton shouldn’t even be in consideration for a squad unless there’s an unprecedented lack of players, but I am very much zero tolerance on anyone found guilty of racism, particularly when questioned many years later and showing zero regret for what they said.

Woakes obviously isn’t much use away from home, which is a shame because I really like him, but we do need to find who we can build our attack around considering Jimmy’s age. Broad can obviously carry on for a few years more but we do need to look more long term, probably could do with not running Archer into the ground but alas it’s too little too late.

It's not going to well for England today.
I thought 303 for Aus 1st innings was a target to give England hope

England have kept a relatively decent handle on Warner, Labuschagne & Smith this series and they’re still miles off.

There are elements of 'umpire's call' that need looking at. You can't uphold an umpire's call for impact if it's shown to be false by the technology.

I am not saying that because Australia have seemingly profited from some pretty lousy 'umpire's calls' in this series, but because it's just a farcical system anyway. If the impact is in line in terms of the technology, then the umpire has to be overruled because where the ball pitches is a fact.

You're basically implying that where the ball pitches is a prediction in the same way that the ball tracker is a prediction. Anyone can see that is not the case.

Obviously one wicket could change everything with England's batting the way it is but Australia don't look very good here.

Like you say, one wicket is all it takes with how fragile this England batting lineup is. Looks solid at 54-0 but I don’t think it would surprise anyone if by the time we have 200 on the board we are 6 or 7 down.

Cameron Green is such a find for Australia in the last year. I think he’s a 6000 runs 200 wickets all rounder.

Are BT Sport using different commentary now? They no longer seem to have the Aussie commentators.
They switch when Vaughan's on commentary because they don't want to be associated with him.

It’s remarkable how many different ways Rory Burns finds to get out.

That was just the first two tests. They sent Gower out for the third (think they have been using McGrath and Guha who were there with Aussie tv too) and have more in a studio back over here to run their own

Turned off.

Honestly this whole series whenever I watch England have gone to shite. And I've woken up with them in promising positions on multiple occasions.

There are two players deep backward of square and you hit the ball in vicinity of one of them. Not very smart from Stokes.

Yes. KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) is a fast food outlet here.
I know it is but it’s not as ubiquitous with the ads in India, and I don’t see it in any other international sport. Just see it all the time in the Aussie cricket alone.
