because we got a full 9 minutes of highlights last night. Fair play the Liverpool game was a big one and they deserve the praise and coverage, but 9 minutes?

The real issue here is that ITV thru their digital service are screwing both United and Liverpool fans alike. Our games are usually those on ITV digital with the less crowd pulling ARSEnal being on terrestrial TV more than most.

It's a feckin disgrace that we have to endure ARSEnal because they are not as marketable to potential advertisers/subscribers as United or Liverpool.

Instead the only option we have to see the majority of European games is to subscribe to the shite that is ITV digital.

Surely it's not ITV's fault that Arsenal are the only English team playing on that night?

It will be different next year when there are four English teams in it!

Although, it must be said that TVE, the Spanish BBC, will show one live match on channel 1 tonight (Deportivo I think tonight), and then the other one in full on 2 starting at 11 (The Real match), and then the highlights from the other two games following that!

I personally get the three matches that TVE 1 is not showing live on my satelite and can choose between them. So, I'll be flicking back and forth between the Arse and TVE1.

I agree, I was livid about it, and it was more like 4mins than 9! It was just the goals, and no analysis, whereas liverpool got about half an hour of coverage and 15mins of analysis.

Ireland. United , PL Champions 2002.
That is unless you live in Ireland, where you can watch CL games live Tuesday and Wednesday nights, with extended highlights at 10:30pm and also some time later again you get another game.

For Example (last night):
7:30pm LIVE - Liverpool V Roma
10:30pm Extended Highlights Boavista V Man Utd.
12 midnight approx. Barcelona V Galatasary

Wednesday Night:

7:30pm LIVE - Juventus V Arsenal
10:30pm Highlights

England is supposed to be the birthplace of football, but yet yee get fewer opportunities to watch football via TV than any other country I know. Sky and ITV are screwing YEE LOT.

It is true that they had 'extended' highlights of United last night. But the only part of the highlights that were extended was in the bleeding name 'EXTENDED' highlights,... me arse. Crap commentary, and half of the 'extended' highlights were feckin' crowd scenes.

To make matters worse, the 're-live' game I stayed up to watch at midnight was Gala v's Barcelona! What the feck is that all about?

So effectively (and thanks be to God I had the sense to record the second half of TV3 and the 'highlights' on ITV) I only got to see the highlights at midnight last night. A real fecking dissappointment!

Does anybody watching TV3 not just laugh at Packie Bonner? I mean every time Lawro made a joke, Packie ignored him and proceeded to go to question X on his list (fecking it up anyway).
He's a bit like Micky Silv. - never going to get much better!

Bonner is quite funny. He's like a newsreader, not showing any kind of emotion, just getting on with it, as if he's announcing another UN Conference.

You can just see Lawrenson is more used to a more relaxed way of presenting - having a laugh (as on BBC with Lineker and Hansen for instance). Bonner on the other hand reminds me of a sphinx...

i'd ignore lawro and his stupid jokes aswell. the coverage on tv3 is good as far as the amount of football they show but apart from that it is crap. the commentators and pundits are shite and the presenters are even worse, still there is a mute button and i still get to watch matches on both nights

ITV Digital is rubbish. I almost subscribed it, thank god i changed my mind. There arent many channels and it's expensive compared to the other services eg Telewest

I think ITV Digital is not bad. They did cover alot of Liverpool's match last night but that was understandable.

If the Man UTD game was Wednesday and Live, I think most Liverpool Fans wouldn't be so Up themselves, as they would have seen the only English Team with aspirations to win the Title and realised that LFC are fortunate to be associated with a great Competition.

ITV's coverage of any sport is just absolute crap in general and has been for a very long time.

I know TV3's commentary is a joke and Bonner is a statue, but feck at least it's FREE.

Some of the commentary is aweful.
Forlan's diving header for United:
TV3 Commentary - "Brave effort by Forlan but not enough conviction" , what the feck?; the guy got his header on target and almost had his head knocked off as a result, not enough conviction my arse.

It's like the commentator knows all of the usual football commentary phrases but gets them arseways - funny sometimes.

Still with all this, I still am glad that at least we get to see more CL football than ever before and that can only be a good thing.

BY THE WAY I HOPE JUVENTUS KICK SOME ARSE ASS TONIGHT 4-1 HOME WIN. <img src="graemlins/yawn.gif" border="0" alt="[Yawn]" />

my personal favourite last night was " they are trying to stop the stem of blood flowing from samuels head"
