Walter Crickmer started it all...
United were 0-2 down at half time.......and then pulled a goal back through Danny Welbeck with about 6 minutes to go......Crewe scored once again to make it 1-3 before Welbeck got his second in the last few minutes....could easily have won the game but didn't create enough....and what we did we couldn't finish!

Crewe took their goals well but it was poor defending by United. Only one clean sheet all season tells the story!!

The Under 16's had better luck and could have been 4 or 5 up had it not been for the heroics of the Crewe keeper.....United then took the lead midway through the first half with a good goal from Nick Ajose after fine play from Mitchell Bryant. Crewe then equalised with a penalty on the stroke of half-time.

United had most of the second half and scored with further goals from Bryant, Williams and Ajose again. Crewe pulled one back before the end to make the final score 4-2.

Team: Bulmer, Moffatt, Dudgeon, Farrelly, Strickland, Norwood, Stewart, James, Williams, Bryant, Ajose

Subs: Potts (10), Brown (6)

Scorers: Ajose 2, Bryant and Williams

Gary Woods is making good progress and is walking freely. He is having physio work and hopes to be back in training before the new year. Zieler is still out with a groin injury and will not feature before the end of January. Apparently United have signed a keeper on loan from Bradford as cover for the FA Youth Cup tie......will try to get more info.....

......my understanding was that it was Jonathon Forbes who was on the bench today for the 18's......but Oskar's post has contradicted this....so I will try to get more info....

Oskar....where did you get your info?
I got this from a site from his local paper a few weeks ago about he would be going on loan to us for 6 weeks. Of course there might be two Forbes... but unlikely, especially as he was number 16... a goalkeeper would be number 13.

Thanks alot for your good work Tony!

Confusion resolved!!!!

The goalkeeper we had on trial was James Fryer.....from Hednesford Town

The defender we have on trial is Jon Forbes from Kendal Town

We are apparently also getting a Youth keeper on loan from Bradford City....not sure who he is but will try to find out
