On a free, surely someone to consider, he was an assisting machine under Mourinho. He's better than all of our attacking midfielders. He got a lot of stick last season but he still delivered 12 goals and 14 assists for Arsenal and we've got nobody capable of these numbers.

He'll be 29 next season, I'd love him for a few seasons.
 
He's not better than Mata or Mkhitaryan

He'd do my head in.

He's talented but he goes missing for months at a time when he can't be arsed. Don't want Utd players like that.
 
Used to really want him here but some of his Arsenal displays have really put me off. Not every player needs to be a warrior but even still......
 
Kinda crazy for Wenger to say that now. Ozil will have his pick of clubs, the wages on offer will be insane.

He was playing for Jose like a man on a mission. After he had a bust up in the dressing room. Jose called Ozil's attitude into question to which Ozil responded positively. If he's on a free I'm sure Jose will look into it.
 
Couldn't think of a player less suited to playing for United. He's a whiney twat that sort of encapsulates Arsenal's inherent weakness.

Yeah, if people complain about Matic's age than Ozil is worse considering he's played 200 more first team games.

I don't want him here, but isn't Mou a big fan of Ozil?
 
Totally spineless, want nothing to do with him.
 
He's cut from the same cloth as Di Maria, talented but a snake and should avoid that type of player.
 
Would take him over Mata, but not over Mkhi. But i would also sell Mata, so doesnt say much about Özil. Sanchez is the player that makes their team, and with Lacazette they have a player better than him now. Özil is a weird player and he is not good enough if he only shows his talent in 20% of the games consistently and goes hiding for the rest.
 
Don't think we should be in the market for a number ten, especially not a fair weather player like Ozil. He'd have to be truly remarkable.

Excellent player mind, just not what is needed.
 
If Griezmann is still available next summer, then we're going to push for him again. Can't see us going for Ozil.

Wouldn't surprise me if Chelsea go for him though
 
I'm not sure how often Ozil played on the lw for Jose, I know he did it a few times, but it's difficult to see him playing there for Utd and midfield is stacked. Anyone remember how he did when played out wide? Also what would happen with Griezmann situation? I know Jose likes him but he doesn't suit our current system

He frustrates me and I'm not an Arsenal fan much rather we get griezeman for number 10.

Will take Mata on him any day.

And anyway our problem is lack of any wingers or width on the flank while he have 2 proper number 10s and we're talking about adding another number 10 that operates centrally ? I'll only accept a number 10 if he's a clear upgrade on what he had and Ozil is past this already.

The problem is our number 10s never get a clear run of games at this position because they'll often got switched to wings due to lack of any proper wingers. Solve this problem by getting wingers opening play on the flanks and fix a constant number 10 all the season and watch his numbers go on high.
 
Good consensus in here. Aside from the fact he's a lazy, little worm, he's also a classic #10. We don't need that player. We need wide players and goalscorers.

I do not think it is like this. He goes missing when his whole team goes missing - and shines when they do - does not really matter if it is a bigger or smaller match. He is the playmaker - not the backbone. He is putting the extra topping on a functioning team - but is not responsible to make this team functioning.

He is not made to be the leader of the team.

He would provide the kind of supply line that Lukaku would thrive on.

Chances created per 90mins in EPL last season: Mata = 2.45, Mkhi = 1.47, Ozil=3.10

I think this is a fair assessment. He's being a little underrated in this thread.
