Terrible in game management.
I’m not hating on Ole and actually feel he makes the right subs most of the time though sometimes late, how many were actually scored by subs or changing the tactics ? Just a general question as I feel most of them are players like Bruno and Rashford pulling something out of the bag. Most of them points are in games we expect to win and usually concede first.
Though you can’t deny the mentality to come back so I’ll give credit to Ole for that.

Good performance I thought the game was lost at around the 50 min mark the team looked flat just moving the ball from left to right. Think Ole's success is both a basis of his management and the quality of the players. I still don't think Solskjaer bridges that gap to actually win anything but only time will tell.
Well the problem for Ole bridging the gap is that Coty have a far superior squad and the best manager in world football so it’s going to take a miracle for him to do it. Even if Ole is up to this job and is a top manager I don’t see us finishing ahead of city in the near future

We weren't great but we still dominated them: We had 15 shots to their 5 and 58% possession. Some are acting as though Brighton were the better side :houllier:

It's been a good weekend for us with both Chelsea and Leicester losing. Again, it wasn't a vintage performance by any means but job done.

Most goals and assists from substitutes in the league.

There's been a graphic posted around lately that shows that United is on top in the PL this year from goals/points gained from our subs.

Had a look around now and couldn't find it, but am also happily buzzed right now.

33 point gap up to Liverpool last season, 11 points ahead of them now. You never know what happens in football.

Really ?? Do you have a link or anything? I’m surprised but that is good news. As I said I felt he makes the right subs but sometimes a bit late

I think it was the Southampton and West Ham games when the subs really did change the game.
Cavani scored a lot from the bench and I think Rashford and Bruno did well too from the bench.

I remember Cavani scored 2 from the bench, in the CL Rashford scored a hat trick against Leipzig. When I think it was Bruno/Rashford against West Ham

60 points at this stage is quite the improvement upon the poor showing last season. If we can get a good run til the end of the season we might even finish with a respectable points tally, which will be something to build on.

Top 4 pretty much guaranteed now. He's doing better than I expected, but hopefully he'll improve our general play and address the imbalance of the side prior to next season.

60 points In 30 games is solid 2.0 points a game. It will never be enough to challenge but it is a improvement.
Well our general play and imbalance has too improve over this summer as if we finish 2nd in the league the only way to improve on it next year will be a title challenge and we won’t do that without fixing them problems

Yeah it was West Ham when Rashford and Bruno came from the bench. Southampton was with Cavani scoring twice and one assist too I think.

Is it just me or is Potter very overrated on here?
As I said he gets a lot of plaudits yet they aren’t better off In the league but with Ex goal and ex conceded they would be 6th. We would still be 2nd for example. No team moves up more than 2 places yet they went up 10.

My cousin is a Brighton fan and I watch a lot of them they average more shot a game than us for example they play nice football but are so wasteful it’s ridiculous. For example they played Palace a few weeks ago and Palace had 4 touches in Brighton box and 3 shots to Brighton’s 21(missed a peno aswell) and palace won 2-1.

They need a Striker big time but then again Potter brought in Welbeck when he needed goals I don’t know why. If Brentford don’t go up they should snap up Ivan Toney. Overall I rate Potter highly you can see they have a set style and are decent at doing it. I’d say they would go down say next season if he left

Aye, they have a clear system, there's no doubt about that but by god, they seem to waste a colossal amount of opportunities and concede some really stupid goals. I saw the Palace game, crazy stuff.

No I agree and at the end of the day that is his negative and also will show if he is as good as people rate him as he has to fix that.
If you are saving he is overrated as in people here when trying to talk down Ole by saving Potter is better and has a style etc then yes he is. He has to show that he can take Brighton to mid table consistently before taking the step upto say a Arsenal level.

Anyway my cousin watches more of them than I do and they break his heart with the amount of games they throw away and boss but lose but he is delighted with Potter

Ole is growing with the team.
Plenty more setbacks to come
Crucial transfer window.
Important to build a solid start next season.
Hopefully finish with a strong run in the Europa.

Hope he wins Europa to shut up a lot of people
And because I want United to win the trophy, would be a great start for some of the players to get it

Here's the league stats. Pretty close across the board with Jose with the exception of clean sheets. But obviously Ole has 4 more games to be even with Jose.

Actually surprised that Ole and Jose are so close in the GF stat. Feels like Ole should be miles ahead!

I think goal difference is a slightly more accurate comparison point and he's already ahead there.

I was being lazy and used a bad formula. Fixed it now. Ole's 9 goals ahead but having conceded more.
Ah ok, still thought it would be a-bit more. I guess maybe just feels like that as we've had some really big wins under Ole - Southampton/Leeds - and Jose's football was mostly soul sucking stuff.

Remember the start of 19/20, for example: after beating Chelsea 4-0 on the opening day, we went eight league games without ever scoring more than one goal in a single game. Or at the end of 18/19: we scored seven goals in the last nine league games. These kind of awful runs do bring down his stats quite a bit.

Even this season: take out the wins against Leeds and Southampton and we have 43 goals in 28 games, 1.535 goals per game which amounts to 53 goals over a whole season. We're not a free-scoring side by any means. Mourinho has a well-deserved reputation for shite football but his teams aren't usually extremely low scorers.

We could literally do that for any team. Take out the times City scored 5 and 4 and they'd have less.

It is generally tricky to compare points across different seasons, but even more so to compare this season to any other.
Teams who are in Europe and/or go far in domestic cups have an even tighter schedule this season and this gives an advantage (a bigger advantage than under normal circumstances) to teams which only have one game per week.
