This is just a friendly exhibition match as crappy won't be able to take part. The match is just held for Sacchi's Milan side to feature in the draft. As such, there will be no poll and Raees/anant will be progressing on to the next round, but be sure to post your thoughts on these historical sides and constructive criticisms etc if any.

Please feel free to tag the managers if you require more information about their set-ups/players etc.

Team Raees/anant:

Philosophy/Ideology of tactical set-up

Possession based, total football. lots of interchange of positions, mixture of wing play and central focus. Very similar style to Bayern under Pep Guardiola with his extreme possession and flexible position of players - difference being it will be much quick pace and direct football always seeking to penetrate

Style - Possession
Defensive Line - High
Marking - Ramos man mark and King cover but depends on opposition.
Off the ball - Aggressive closing down
On the ball - lots of interchange of positions, mixture of wing play and central focus

Defense

Platzer
was reliable keeper with good reflexes and jumping abilities, he also knew to save some penalties. After the departure of Rudi Hiden to France in 1933 he was master of the national team goalie and stand well in all games of the soccer World Cup in 1934 in the gate, where the Austrian team made it to the semifinals

Handanovic is a very similar keeper. A fantastic shot stopper, having among the best shots saved to shots faced ratio for last few years, a very impressive record of nearly 2 in 5 penalties saved, Handanovic has been the reason Inter haven't had a slide similar to their city rivals and a key reason behind Slovenia's rise on international stages

Sesta - Great defender who was famous as one of the first "modern" defenders who often joined the attacks. Sesta was fast and very strong player who practiced wrestling as well, he was even Austrian champion in wrestling. Sesta played as striker in the early years, but later commanded the defence very successfully. He was very determined and strong in tackles, all opponents were feared of him. Sesta had also very powerful shot and used to score some goals from long range shooting.

If there is one defender who knows to find the back of the opponent's net, it is Sergio Ramos. Blessed with a fantastic speed and aerial ability, Ramos may not be the exact duplicate of Sesta on basis of long range shooting, but is very similar to him, all aspects considered. A player very comfortable of the ball, someone who can lead the defence, very strong despite not the biggest of frames, and a determination that can put most players to shame.

Ancelotti said:
"He has everything that Maldini had – personality, technical quality and the ability to be a leader on and off the pitch.

“I have never compared anyone to Maldini. Sergio is the best defender in the World at the moment.”
Sista - was technically gifted defender with intelligent positional play, great elegancy, complete tactical vision, very reliable. He never made unnecessery foul or mistake in passing and his vision of play and anticipation allowed him to make clear cuts of the rival attack

Among England's greatest defenders and could have been better had injuries not ruined his career. He was beautiful, athletic, and a great reader of the game. A freak of nature who never trained before games. 8 yellows in 268 games, 0 red cards tells you exactly how good King was. When Arsenal's King rates Ledley as among the finest he has played against, you sit down and listen

Nausch was very versatile player who played on almost all positions but his favourite position was midfielder, mainly on the left side as left wing half. In many ways he was similar to Gerhard Hanappi: Great condition, versatility, high technique and great intelligence and tactical awareness. Nausch was also solid dribbler and passer, possessed also good strength

Is he a defender, a left back, an attacking Midfielder, No it is David Alaba! There was only one player who can fulfill this role really. Having played in almost every position and having excelled at each of them, Alaba possesses all the qualities of a footballer. It won't be a stretch to call him the most complete footballer not only right now, but possibly Modern era. He knows how to defend, is reasonably fast, has the ability to read the game very well, excellent in one-on-one situations and is a solid tackler. Alaba knows when to make the tackle and when to just press, a quality that is rare. He has excellent passing capabilities, an incredible shot on him and is great at set pieces. His energy and pace often sees him beat players seamlessly. In both attaching and defending domains of the game, his intelligence is often displayed if one closely watches his positional sense. His crossing is good enough to put many wingers to shame.

Guardiola said:
David Alaba is our god. He has already played almost all 10 positions
LVG said:
We don’t need Sami Khedira, we have David Alaba!

When Alaba was 17 years old
Wagner - He played mostly as right wing half and was remembered as tachnically strong player, which was unusual for players on his position. Besides he was known also for his great endurance and mobility. Braun was good fighter, solid and reliable player

On the Right we have Dani Alves. A fighter, a player who has an unreal crossing ability for a full back. A fantastic tackler, a good passer of the ball, the greatest testament to his technical ability is in the fact that he has been part of Barcelona's golden period and more importantly been a key part of their success

Midfield

Smistik played mainly as centre half . He was most known for his fantastic long balls and speed, fighting spirit, great vision and intelligence, as well as powerful play, great endurance and good technique. Pepi used to join attack very often and scored some goals, some of them from free kicks and headers as well. Smistik worked as an animal, always in perfect condition, was master in breaking the opponents attacks and starting offensive moves with his trademark long balls, but also good ball control and dribbling, precise quick one-two's and used to shoot from distance.

If there is one player who can fulfill this role, it has to be Schweini. A player who is known for limitless energy, an incredible passing range, Schweinsteiger also possesses a true fighting spirit, which doesn't need to be elaborated upon. There is no way I can do justice to his talent by describing it in words, but his control, passing, shooting have been simply top class

Zischek - Probably the best ever Austrian right winger. Very intelligent player who knew to make well timed runs in the box and score many goals. Zischek was very fast player, showed good understanding with his teammates in their sweet precise way of playing, had solid heading abilities and also was able to send useful crosses from the right flank

Willian may not be that great in aerial abilities, but his passing is exquisite, crossing is fantastic and is a fine dribbler. Gifted with pace, he is an important part in counter attacks as well. Add to that his vision is useful in linking up play between attackers and midfielders.

Vierti played as the left winger but he constantly changed positions with inside left Schall. Verti was extremly fast and elegant player with good crosses and passing range in general. He was good dribbler as well which combined with his great speed made lethal combination. But he also had good body strength and effectiveness although he sometimes didn't show some outstanding instinct in the box.

Costa- Fast, great dribbler and a great crosser. Possibly the last among the true wingers and among the best wingers of this generation. Add to that his long shots and passing. There is a reason why nearly every full back has struggled against him, and that is because he is a complete package.

Attack

Schall
was very fast player cutting into centre many times and mostly, after the excellent quick one-two passes with Vogl which they perfected, scoring great abundance of goals. Schall was also known for his unselfish play and good passing range, despite being a prolific scorer. And that passing skills were mainly exploited in his lethal quick combinations with Adolf Vogl which provided hundreds of goals during their careers. Toni was also very skilled player with excellent dribbling which, combined with his great speed, made him pretty tough to defend from. Schall had excellent understanding with his teammates, not only with Vogl and was always a good example in teamworking moves.
All in all Schall was a left footed, goalscorer who was creative and was a great goalscorer as well who had good teamworking moves as well.

You read the summary and there is only one player that comes to mind. Fast, intelligent, scores and creates goals, skillful.Paulo Dybala!!!

Bican was an unbelievably fast forward, who was incredibly agile and either footed. And yeah, his goalscoring record was surreal. He said in an interview that had he played in later periods, he might have been as big a name as Pele or Maradona.

A fast, agile, either footed striker with an impressive goal scoring record, who else but Aguero! 2nd fastest to 100 PL goals, among the best strikers for last few years, and incredibly lethal.

Last player but definitely the most important one was the Paper Man- Sindelaar. A False 9 with fantastic Agility, great dribbler, Pacy, incredible Passing, and great Finishing.
The first player you think of with these qualities is Messi, undoubtedly. But Griezmann comes close among the mortals. While he hasn't been used as a true F9 iirc, but his qualities make him an exciting prospect for the role. Someone who can drop deep, great passing, good dribbling ability. And Griezmann does satisfy the basic needs to be a F9. Add to that he is considerably agile, is fast and has great finishing

A few comments regarding Milan:

- Nice to introduce 5 former Milan AC players

- Excellent choices on the whole

- This system is not ideal to get the most of Ronaldinho: more defensive tasks and tactical constraints. Ronaldinho could be viewed as a 'Free-Role Side Attacker' and Donadoni was a more complete 'wide midfielder'. Robert Pirès is unfortunately born before 1975.

Otherwise, Austria is comprised of very versatile players, which makes sense in a Total Football configuration.

Wunderteam:

CB's are not convincing. CB in a 2-3-5 is far more disciplined and difficult job that I don't see Ramos excelling in. Not a big fan of King, even at his peak either.
Dani Alves as a halfback? mmm!

Milan:

The dynamics are all wrong
Beckham, Ronaldinho, Gattuso are would not be a replicate of the original team members style.
Like Rooney in that role, despite loss of quality.
Like the back 4.
