1-0 to Oxford at half-time, sounds like a decent performance from us, just conceded a sloppy early goal from a set-piece.

2-0 now, got caught on the break a bit.

Don't think the nature or extent of Welbeck's injury has been revealed.

Back to 2-1, Danny Drinkwater with a great counter-attacking goal of our own.

Good comeback that, deserved at least a draw by the sounds of it. James (17), Brandao (18), Norwood (16), Dudgeon (15) and Gill (not sure on his number) all got some time on the pitch in the second half.

That was a fairly weak reserve team.. Good comeback though. Ole's team talk must have been spot on!

A few words on the stand out players would be greatly appreciated.

I can only go off the radio commentary but the commentators were very complimentary about Hewson and Drinkwater, and the latter definitely sounded like he had a really good game (as much as someone can sound like they're having a good game over the radio...). Eckersley got quite a bit of praise too.

Walter Crickmer started it all...

David Gray, James Chester and Richard Eckersley were solid at the back....Matty James as always looked good when he came on.

In fact Norwood and James looked much better as a midfield pairing but ironically Hewson and Drinkwater got the goals!

Jimmy Derbyshire had an off day....Josh King doesn't look as though he settled in yet and Conor Devlin was at fault for their first goal.

All part of the learning process!
