Pretty much outboxed John Ruiz tonight. IMO he could beat anyone in the heavyweight cat except Lennox, Tyson, the Klitschkos, and Chris Byrd.

Ruiz is a tough fighter. He just happened to run into the best pound for pound boxer in the world imo.

Not seen the fight.. but i had a feeling Roy would use the tactics he did.. his skill were far too superior for Ruiz.

Would be interesting to see how he'd fair against Lennox, he like other heavyweights, isn't the most mobile thesedays..

(would love to see Roy go toe to toe with him ;) )

Would think Jones as good a fighter as he is would struggle against a big hitter like Tyson, Lewis and the like.Didn't get to watch the fight how did it go,was it a ko.

Well Lennox was at ringside commentating on the fight. Afterwards he said he thought Roy could beat the likes of Holyfield, but didn't say anything about fighting him.

Personally I think Jones could beat everyone except Lewis, both Kitschkos, Tyson, and Chris Byrd.

don't rate lennox that highly tbh.. he's not quite done it for me... he doesn't fight like a champ, i thought he should have hammered, a past it Evander, to claim the title... however he didn't and a doubt will be in most people's mind about his greatness. The Tyson fight was a joke.. as Mike's welllllllllll past his sell by date. Rahman (?) and Oliver McCall both knocked him out with one punch... which proved he has a suspect chin..hence why he keeps his distance from good fighters.. so for this reason he doesn't even deserve a mention in the same breath as Ali, Frazier, Tyson, Rocky, Louis, Foreman, Holmes......etc etc (and even Holyfield who had a heart of a champion.)

as for a fight with Roy... i doubt Lennox would take it.. he'd have everything to lose!

Great Fight and fair play to Roy Jones.

Ruis couldn't land a punch. But I don't think Jones had a punch in him to stop the fight ehich would make it ever hard against the other main contenders in the weight devision.

ruiz is a mediocre fighter at best, like most in the heavyweight division; all he ever had was the formula to consistently beat holyfield.. sort've like some football team i hate

I saw the fight and commend Jones for actually taking some risk in a fight and not fighting his usual civil servants. I think Jones could take a washed-up fighter like Evander, but I don't think Jones would take a fight with Tyson or Lewis. Lewis' jab is too good and Tyson might seriously hurt Jones.
