South Korean opposition leader Lee Jae-myung stabbed in the neck

The news agency reported he was stabbed in the neck.

South Korean television channels aired images showing of Mr Lee on the ground as someone presses a handkerchief to his neck.

Local television footage also showed a man lunging at the opposition leader and striking him with an object.

Mr Lee is then seen collapsing as people rush to aid him.

Shinzo Abe was murdered not that long ago and now this happens. I swear that Asian democracies need to beef up the security apparatus around political leaders in the same way it is done in most Western countries. This should not be happening.

The man got balls of steels, I don't think they'll be adhering "human rights" to make him talk.

But I honestly doubt this is political, maybe a looney individual nutcase, you don't just off an opposition leader like that.
