Based on the 2015 novel of the same name, the series follows a character known as Captain, a communist North Vietnamese spy who infiltrates the South Vietnamese community in LA to sneak information back to the Viet Cong during the final days of the Vietnam War.
The series has also been described as part thriller and part satire, as the pressure cooker of suspicion and paranoia that existed around communism and post-Vietnam relationships are brought into vibrant 70s technicolour.
