...is pretty good.
Since the quarter finals in 06/07 when he finally got the monkey off his back and got a goal away at Roma he has scored 13 goals from 24 starts in the knockout phase which is a pretty good return at the very highest level, especially considering he has often been asked to 'do a job' rather than be the focal point of the attack.
Rooney Goals:
06/07
Roma (A)
Roma (H)
Milan (H) x 2
07/08
Roma (A)
08/09
Porto (H)
09/10
Milan (A) x 2
Milan (H) x 2
Bayern (A) x 1
10/11
Chelsea (A)
Schalke (A)
To put this into context, during the same period Ronaldo also has 13 goals (not sure how many starts) while the monster that is Messi has 17.
Can he do what those two have done and go on to score in the final?
Also, Hernandez so far stands at 3 goals from 4 starts for the knockout stages.
