Wimbledon 2013

His arrogance has always come across as of the playful kind and not the spiteful holier-than-thou that is associated with Federer.

I agree with you completely. He can get frustrated in matches but no worse than Murray sometimes is. He's a passionate guy but like you say it's always a more playful arrogance as opposed to Federer's which I feel comes across in a much worse way.

Absolutely and the fecking cheering in between the points. Load of cnuts

The cheering I can understand though, it's his home grand slam. But the noise in the middle of the point, the cheering a double fault, the booing a player if they have a complaint (never happens if its Murray of course)... it's just rude.

He was tired . Although, even if he was rested it may have not been enough today. It was a Davis Cup atmosphere out there, which only helped Murray, who was already playing some of his best Tennis to date.

I think even if Djokovic was at his best Murray would have still won in 5, it was just his year.

I wish the crowd would shut up so I can hear Andrew Castle.

Quite subdued - seemed more like relief than anything else.

IMO it should happen only in Davis Cup ties where you play for your country. The French are nowhere near as bad, not even the Aussies were this bad with Hewitt

To be fair, none of the French crowd has had a reason to cheer in tennis events

Djokovic was very disappointing today. Played like his old self only in that final game.

But all credit to Murray who played an amazing match too.

BBC cutting away immediately after Salmond gets out the Scotland flag behind Cameron

Wilmbledon are the worst by a mile. The Murray wankfest begins in earnest now

Would the crowd at any of the other slams not cheer on a home player in a final particularly after having not won the trophy for many years?

I'd agree that some of the false celebrations were annoying although equally you don't judge an entire tournament's spectators by their reaction to a single person or match.

Each of them are distinctively different.

A crowd supporting the home favorite. Blasphemy!

Never heard that before. The British cnuts!

There's supporting your home favourite respectfully though.

THIS feckING MUSIC AGAIN AHHH

Did you miss City's last game last season!

No I didnt mate and we were all upset and dissapointed. But Murray lost a Wimbledon final and Bayern a CL final. We lost a league game, that's why I found it a tad funny. You win league games, you lose league games. Even against your city rival it happens all the time. YOu don't happen to play in a final every year.

Christ. The French have had more grand slam worthy players than the British in the last 10 years and in case it slipped your mind Bartoli is French

Name these so-called worthy players. Gasquet? Monflis? Tsonga? Puh-lese....

And I don't watch any of women's tennis so I can't comment there.

Right, now we have won the men's championship.... lets start heaping pressure on Laura Robson and get that women's championship too!!

I can't believe that the slimeball Alex Salmond tried to politicize Murray's victory by unfurling a Scottish flag in the VIP box.

In fairness last season with the late city win was the worst I have ever felt following utd. Worse than any final defeat.

It was was a full season lost in injury time

Murray in the interview on ESPN said he dreamed last night that he was playing Radek Stepanek in the final and when he woke up he dread that it was Novak.

Djok definitely played like that today.

Ah well when he was referring to that I agree. THought he was talking about our game against CIty. Fair enough then

It was annoying as feck how they kept panning to Cameron and immediately cut away from Salmond with the Scotland flag out.

All of those you mentioned are better than the British players not named Murray so what's up with him saying the French have had "more" grand slam worthy winners than Britain?

I don't watch woman's tennis either but I wouldn't be ignorant enough to call their players shite when a French player won Wimbledon 24 hours ago.

Murray played a great game today, there is not doubt about it at all. He used the crowd to inspire him, and he took every opportunity given to him, there was no other winner.

But... To me, he will never be a Brit. He is, and always will be, Scottish. Not that I have anything against the Scottish, it is that he does not associate himself with being British, but rather with being Scottish. His statements from before where he claimed to be purely Scottish at a younger age don't just leave like that: he was most probably told by a PR agent to change his stance about his views, and that going down his Proud Scottish heritage will not win over the fans at Wimbledon. I am now at that age of which he had first made those statements, and a lot of people blame him doing that due to his naivety at that age (21 years old). That is a complete load of bollocks too; he is just as mature in terms of intelligence and decision making as he is now, and saying those sort of things cannot be excused from. This was what I wanted to say to all those people who don't "understand" all those Murray haters, and I hope my explanation covered all the feelings of those people as well as possible opinions towards his demeanor and attitude on court which can be off putting too.

He fully deserved this final. He made so few errors, won all those passing shots and fed off the crowd. But to me, he will always be a Scot in his heart, and he won this for Scotland, not for Britain.

Rant over.

The French are worse and absolutely the most detestable crowd of all the four slams. While the Brits might be obnoxious in their Murray cheer, they rarely actively cheer against a player as often as the french crowd does

Well done on missing the point. Are any of them shit? Thought not.

The French don't cheer their players like a bunch disrespectful arseholes
