I don't mind doing characters but I don't think it would be great to have characters from all media. Maybe just Tv and film characters.

To be fair I think we could do them in 2 separate countdowns...no rush - lets get historical figures out of the way first.

Great thread and list some gem on there that I need to rewatch and some new ones I havent. Although there really should have been far more animated films on there.

That was a great exercise BTW, we gave people 6 months or so to watch movies and come up with a list. I myself did a Hitchcock marathon during the same time. I am gonna organize it again

Acting, the script and the historical aspect are awful, really. The fighting scenes are good though.
It isn't an atrocious film, but simply not a good one and it shouldn't be anywhere near consideration for that list. And when it is compared with the likes of the Godfather and usual suspects, never mind the genre...
I am very disappointed when I read weak comments on football on this forum. In terms of taste in film, hey, you can't expect much from people who are not necessarily interested in film very much.
Obviously the list is quite rubbish. No "Lawrence of Arabia" -was it only myself who mentioned/voted that film? - No David Lean films in general if I am not mistaken. What's more, there is no Hitchcock either. What about Kubrick? I think only "2001" made it (largely thanks to me putting it at number 1 of my list) So, this list is virtually devoid of David Lean, Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick. One needs to stop arguing here I think. Tarantino and Nolan are good (well, Quentin is a bit overrated imo) but people clearly have little knowledge of the true greats of American cinema. Oh, and no Sergio Leone either. One of the redeeming features of this list though, it has to be said, is the inclusion of at least a couple of Coen movies. To my shame, I did not include them in my list, in favour of a couple of idiosyncratic choices.
I am also a huge fan of "Blue is the Warmest Colour" myself. Both female leads are awesome in that film. Lea Seydoux
