I'm not normally one to suggest playing 11 kids, its necessary to have at least a few experienced heads in there like fletcher and Evans for example... But we simply can't afford any more injuries to first team players. I'm fine with cleverley playing cos he's shite but other than him I don't wanna see any potential starters risked.

From that video I make it:

    De Gea
    Amos
    Vermijl
    Janko
    Thorpe
    Keane
    Evans
    McNair
    James
    Powell
    Anderson
    Pereira
    Januzaj
    Kagawa
    Zaha
    Welbeck
    Wilson
    Hernandez

    Amos
    Thorpe--Evans--Keane
    Rafael/Vermijl--Powell--Anderson--James
    Kagawa
    Welbeck--Januzaj

subs: De Gea, Vermijl/Janko, McNair, Pereira, Zaha, Hernandez, Wilson

    Or

    Amos
    Rafael/Vermijl--Keane--Evans--James
    Powell--Anderson--Kagawa
    Januzaj--Welbeck--Hernandez

subs: De Gea, Vermijl/Janko, Thorpe, Pereira, Zaha, Hernandez, Wilson

Saw on Twitter that Rafael has travelled but I didn't see him on the video so not sure.

We're gonna see some kids alright!

Epic lack of any midfielders who can defend. Given that the likes of Pereira and Janko have come along, it seems strange that Pearson didn't get to. Much more room for a player in his position.

Maybe LVG will use Thorpe as a DM in a 433? Like this:

    Amos
    Vermijl Keane Evans James
    Thorpe
    Anderson Powell
    Januzaj Hernandez Welbeck

With Wilson to come on for Hernandez and Pereira for Anderson/Powell.

Anderson, Welbeck, de Gea, Evans, Hernandez and Zaha ,Thorpe, Janko, McNair, Wilson, A. Pereira, Vermijl, Amos, James and Powell

That is 14 out of 20 players i think we take in a squad.
I think we've taken 18 players, or at least I noticed 18 players in the video of them arriving off the train at Milton Keynes. Add Januzaj, Kagawa and I think Michael Keane to your list.

See mine just above. Pretty sure that's full and correct.

    Football, bloody hell.
I'm hoping that we start with Welbeck and Januzaj up front, both of whom will stretch the opposition constantly and will inevitably tire them out. Also hoping Rafa, Evans and Wilson get a run out.

Didn't think about Thorpe playing DM. That's a good shout but I would have Kagawa coming in for Anderson and I'd be happy with that.

    How about 4-2-3-1 as below?

    De Gea
    Rafael Keane Evans Blackett
    Fletcher Cleverly
    Januzaj Kagawa Welbeck
    Van Persie

Oh yep, that's a good call. Forgot him.

That line-up's not my ideal one, but it's probably along the lines of what LVG will go for.

What's you ideal lineup? Pereira etc starting?
Mostly just not Powell. Won't go into it here but I'm not a fan.

Also I'd rather Wilson start over Hernandez, because we've seen plenty of lukewarm Hernandez showings already this season and pre-season.

And we should have brought Pearson so that we have a proper DM to play. Thorpe has been decent there in youth sides, and maybe LVG will play him there today, but really his future is at CB - that's the position where he has the quality to make it in senior football.

So Varela has to be injured. He didn't feature in the last match so I thought he could be on the bench against Sland but he is not even traveling with the squad now. He can play left right. He must have been there if he wasn't injured.. and also no pearson/rothwell? seems like were giving chances to more senior player Anderson/Powell

Agree with Wilson over Hernandez. I want him gone and don't rate him to be honest. Tired of him and would rather start someone that has a future.
I'm surprised Rothwell or Pearson didn't travel to be honest.

I understand what you mean regarding Powell. But I want to give him a chance playing in the middle and hope he can stay focused. Some rumours about his attitude have been a bit displeasing to be honest.

    Or maybe he's in Madrid.

If Kagawa don't get a full 90-mins in THIS game it proves that LVG hates him (or he is out/frozen out of the club).
Or that we have promising young players who need to be given chances as well!

Hard for anyone to answer if you don't make it clear who you're talking to.
Whoever wants to reply I guess. Reading some of the guys lineups, it seems to go more on what they would like to see, rather than what we expect LVG to play.

Like i would definitely LOVE to not see Anderson play, but just because I would like to see that, LVG probably wants to test him as he hasn't had any game time (pre-season included if i'm not mistaken). Maybe he told him if he could stop eating Mcdonald for at least a week he would have a start tonight!

It's possible they will be in the squad for Saturday. LvG may have seen enough of Fletcher and Cleverley
They don't have any first team experience. Doubt they will be thrown straight in.

And if they were to be involved, involving them today made sense. There's enough time in between.
