So say TV3's commentators... Are they fecking mental?
Shaw kicked the ball against him from what I've seen.Don't know, didn't really see the one replay. In real time on our little kitchen tv I thought he may have got the ball.
Don't think it was that bad to be honest, Shaw is just incredibly unlucky not to have gotten off the ground in time. If Shaw gets his studs up, everyone says what an essential, last-gasp tackle it was.
Defenders always hurl themselves at attackers are they're about to shoot, it's almost surprising that kind of thing doesn't happen more often.
I'm surprised too that Luke wasn't just swept off the ground - the trailing leg came in high and caught him mid-leg. Would a more experienced attacking player have seen the danger and jumped over?Don't think it was that bad to be honest, Shaw is just incredibly unlucky not to have gotten off the ground in time. He didn't get the ball, Shaw kicked it against him. Besides, that has nothing to do with the law of the game. Excessive force doesn't count if you get the ball, excessive force is what it says.come on people, it was a good tackle idk what you guys are seeing. Very good tackle but awful outcome.
EDIT: OK looking at it again his left leg comes in at a strange angle, but he still gets the ball. The tackle could have been cleaner and maybe it was Luke wouldn't have been injured
At first it seems like a well timed, hard but fair tackle but after viewing it a good few times it just looks worse every time. Malicious it may not be but it's a very hard challenge and it looks as if it's the trailing leg from the slide that does the damage!come on people, it was a good tackle idk what you guys are seeing. Very good tackle but awful outcome.

He didn't. Shaw kicked it against him, and even if he won the ball, it's not in the rules. Excessive force is the only rule.In real time I thought it was a penalty. On replay (the only one I have see ) I thought the tackle was okay and that he got the ball and his back leg went through the player from the side
Yep, looked gutted later on when he scored. The guys a cnut. The follow through with the second leg was really clumsy, which made the impact with Shaw´s leg so high and unlucky.
You could see it on the player face when Shaw hit the ground, that there was never a bad intention about it, though. He looked completely shell shocked.
Indeed, but at some point you can have a fair tackle that causes injury.FIFA laws of misconduct
"Any player who lunges at an opponent when challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force and endangering the safety of an opponent, is guilty of serious foul play"
Nothing anywhere about "getting the ball" that's a myth of a rule.
I didn't say it was in the rules, just that is what I thought I saw.He didn't. Shaw kicked it against him, and even if he won the ball, it's not in the rules. Excessive force is the only rule.
Sorry, but it's a clear red every time in today's game. Getting the ball is neither here nor there if you leave the ground and go straight through the man with your trailing leg.come on people, it was a good tackle idk what you guys are seeing. Very good tackle but awful outcome.

You cannot call it shameful Cina. When fans see a hugely talented youngster - playing as well as Shaw has been and looking like he would actually fulfill his potential - getting injured that way which could possibly be a career redefining injury, they will get hysterical. Anyone who can stay calm after that needs an applause because that is generally not how normal people react.I don't think it was malicious and you could see by his reaction that he was gutted about it, so all the hysteria over him in the match day forum is pretty shameful, but it should've been a red.
He's obviously going to anticipate the ball being further from that of when he started making the tackle. He get's the ball, he stopped the ball from going further and if it wasn't for that left leg coming in horribly you would say he got the ball cleanly. He didn't get the ball, Shaw kicked it against him. Besides, that has nothing to do with the law of the game. Excessive force doesn't count if you get the ball, excessive force is what it says.
I'm as devastated as anyone but it doesn't make me wish Moreno gets an injury, or someone kicks the shit out of him, or whatever else is being said. You cannot call it shameful Cina.
