Update from El Confidencial - The police has investigated and found no proof to corroborate the accusations made by the protected witness.

The authorities in Spain aren’t considering to call De Gea, Isco or Muniain to testify or answer for any crimes unless proof is found. Considering that the accusations by the witness were investigated and no proof was found, players likely not to be implicated any further.

The leak itself can only cause harm to the three athletes and the witness too, unprofessional and immoral by the outlets in Spain.

The timing of this is fishy especially with half the story coming out, and then it later being updated that police investigated and seems like a closed case for the actual players.

So while reporting this story the various outlets just decided to leave out the bit where no evidence was found to back up their claims?

Grade A journalism right there.

I half expect to see Iker's wife as the author of this report. Not a laughing matter but it actually went through my mind

Any other scandal going on? This one promised, but I have that feeling you have when you go to a restaurant with superb food but just not enough quantity.

Some of the responses in this thread...shameful. Total lack of concern for the allegations other than its potential implications for de Gea, alongside some blatantly misogynistic posts. This is not a criticism of this forum before any attacks me, I imagine you'd get similarly depressing responses on every forum, and I'm aware it was not the majority, but a few people really need to reconsider the views they hold.

Iker's wife had a child less than a week ago and is on maternity leave. Just let her be.

I hope DDG sues media outlets who came out with these baseless allegations.

The only source to this story was a website founded in 2012.

The likes of the Sun,Dail Mail etc should know better.

So should many posters.

True, but they should be held responsible for what they publish. There is no such thing as journalistic integrity any more.
They can sue them, especially one that always prints crap and every time gets away with it.

The Independent are saying he has been sent home? http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...ent-home-manchester-united-news-a7074711.html

I wouldn't be so quick to write this one off yet, I doubt it will be the last of it.
It seems that The Sun fell for "Forest Echo News" latest hoax that was tweeted by one of their pretend journalists and (because they didn't name the source) the Mail and Independent are basically re-reporting The Sun.

But, you know, these outlets should definitely be believed when they break a transfer story this time tomorrow. Their sources are impeccable.

People laughing at the overreaction in the first 3 pages - It's much better than printing T-Shirts to support D Gea.

Hope it is not true. If yes we´re very unlucky and need to get another keeper...

Would be great if people actually read up on what has actually happened before filling this thread with nonsense.

Here's hoping Mata gets accused of human trafficking or something.

Until there's any evidence I think people should be taking this with a pinch of salt.

Not the first time people have made up false accusations against footballers or even our own footballers.
Yeah.

Didn't Leicester have problem with some of their players getting accused of rape a good while back, when it was a hooker who didn't get paid and went to the press with rape accusations. Not the Nigel Pearson's sons thing, further back than that.
I can vaguely recall that. I mean, I'm not saying a hooker cant be raped, but once money is exchanged, if that was the case, then surely it becomes tricky? My legal background is hazy, but exchange of money represents a contract and agreement.

I was working, had a break, looked at the first page, skipped to the last and found out it was all over.

I didn't have time to work up a good 'I don't believe it', never mind anything else.

Its an odd leak when it was squashed so quickly, who would have gained from it?

I really hope this is the last we see of this, it's the kind of thing you always hope isn't true.
