Mkhi and Marcus should definitely be starting.

I love Martial, but he needs to play his way back into the team.

Anti Rooney brigade out in force this evening. Sad. He did ok for the game, and brilliantly to forge the goal.
This is the issue Rooney turns up momentarily and people come out claiming the rest of the criticism is agenda driven

No brigade here. He did very well for the goal, but he was under par in the first half; hence my surprise that Scholes didn't call him out in any way.

Lol, no sweat. I am just frustrated because I feel we are not playing our best team. Still, we won, so all's forgotten!
This is why Jose is the manager and we aren't. Rooney did grow into the game. 90% of us would have taken him off at the half, myself included.

I was going to say well done Rooney until I saw him celebrating like he had scored it. Captain, captain, what are you doing :nono:.

But, fair play to him he showed good movement there and it was a very sweet pass.
That's why I'm so pissed with the away fans, celebrating like they scored the goal. Sit the feck down guys

Good second half I thought, we dominated and didn't let Hull do anything but defend. It really felt like a bit of United of old, where we just kept pushing for a goal and eventually broke them down.

Jose will have a few selection headaches for next week now. Both Mkhitaryan and Rashford, particularly the latter, were very good when they came on and both are showing that they should be in the team.
Just injected that little bit of pace, lack of fear and dynamic play that we seemed to lack under van Gaal. This was a Fergie-esque performance in the sense that we dominated the game and created so many chances with attack after attack, searching for that damned goal we deserved. We need to be more ruthless in front of goal though, especially against the top clubs but other than that excellent.

we really needed those 3 points. It's too tight to be faffing away points at Hull - no disrespect to them. Great defensive performance from Hull as well.

That was brilliant. Funny how Rooney went in with knee slide expecting to be into of Rasford who had just had just jumped up and gone to the fans.

They should give Micky Phelan the job, we snatched it right at the death, great performance from Hull to keep us out so long with the quality we have.

Wow Mkhitaryan and Rashford running at the opposition defences , such a joy to watch.
Kudos to Rooney , however bad his touches are , he definitely is a winner and that determination at the last minute to create that chance .Amazing.

I think it'll be clearer around January whether Phelan is worth being kept as manager or if Hull should go for a more experienced one. We are excellent in bringing the best out of the opposition.

    And then there were three!

Three on top with 100% record that is.

Amazing play by Rashford. On the hinges as I feel Blind should get MOTM however really wanting to give it to Rashford.
Well city is yet to play....so lets see if it hold up tomorrrow.

As fecking fantastic as Rashford is, I really want to see Martial get a run of games to find his form again. I think Martial deserves at least the City game to find his feet again (or at least the first half against City). Definitely want Mkhitaryan starting over Mata, though.

Not just us, they've won a few games too.
Perhaps. Mind you, they've a decent squad with a few additions they have a decent chance of staying up. But I do think they should give Mike a chance. If McClaren, Pardew and Sherwood had a chance why not him

Why would Mourinho have Smalling start over someone who is so far delivering good performances?
Because rotation. Both Bailly and Blind have been superb so far, but we have three great CBs and we should use them. The post you quoted was a prediction, not a wish. Clearly Mourinho will give Smalling game time at some point, and when he does I think it'll be Bailly he'll rest, because they're similar whereas Blind offers something different.

Dominated them, we've just got to start finding the final ball. Clearly Rashford and Mkhi need to be starting ahead of Mata and Martial.

I can see something special happening this season.

    Not what I said.
You're actually going to defend that post? What the feck is wrong with him being ecstatic that after battering away for 90 minutes we put the ball in the net? Should he have celebrated less enthusiastically? Or would that earn some sort of comment about him 'sulking because he wanted the goal himself'?

Martial was easily our worst player today. One poor performance too many. He should be the first taken out for either Mkhitaryan or Rashford. I think Mata should be taken out also. He wasn't poor, but wasn't great either and both Mkhi and Marcus were fantastic off the bench and should start imo. Delighted with the last minute winner. Thought the performance was great and we deserved way more than just one goal. Hull's defence was set up perfectly and they gave their all in the game which made it very difficult to score. Thought Shaw was great, same with Blind and Bailly. Valencia got forward a lot but his delivery was poor. Pogba a bit inconsistent throughout imo, some great stuff but a lot of wasted shooting chances. Ibra also showed some good stuff but his touch was a bit sloppier than usual. Rooney wasn't great but was nowhere near as bad as some of the comments I saw suggested. He lost the ball a lot but he also created some of our best chances throughout the 90 mins and the work he did for our goal was absolutely phenomenal. I think we'll look back at this win as an important one at the end of the season. These are the type of wins that indicate a title winning team.

Rooney was also sliding to celebrate with Rashford but he kept running to the away fans. Not like he ran away to the other end, or pulled a Ronaldo and took his shirt off (would have been funny though).

Naa! Rashford please. He scored last season against City so expecting him to do the same again.
