Anyone think we should play him alongside Pogba in a 4-3-3 a la City?

We should aspire to be like those top boys.

Simeone agrees to slash 2 years off of his contract and now this.

That happened? wow thats huge news.

Also Griezmann would be the PERFECT replacement for a balding old scouser.

Ill do just that in my PES save this weekend and let you know how it goes.

Both are good enough players to accommodate each other's presence.
Griezmann can play as an inside forward/#10, while Pogba can play box to box.
Pogba works best in a 3 man midfield, Griezmann is best as the SS.

Griezmann is not worth €100m if we put him on the right.

Maybe, we could play like that?

----------Rashford -------or Martial
----------Griezmann
Pogba-----CM--CM-----Miki
Shaw--Smalling-Bailly-Valencia

Basically, Atletico MK2.

First lets see if Pogba can be best utilized in a 2 man midfield...

Haven't seen him much or paid close attention at the Euro, but if he's just a goal scorer with great movement then is he really what we need? I feel our first need is a playmaker.

Agreed. I'd love him here ofcourse as he's class but we'll struggle to get the best out of both unless we start playing a diamond.

That looks good.

But i have faith in both Rashford and Martial to be starters in the near future and if Griezmann came to us that wouldn't happen.

Could do the diamond.

De Gea

Valencia - Bailly - Smalling - Shaw

DM

CM - Pogba

Griezmann

Ibrahimovic/Rashford - Martial

This is so nailed on to happen. Wouldn't be surprised if Riaola somehow magically appears in all of this.

How good is he as a lone striker? Seeing as his best position is as a SS/#10, signing him would automatically mean that we'll have to stick with a 4-2-3-1 (though this worked fine yesterday to be fair) unless he could be the sole striker in a 4-3-3.

Assuming Miki takes up the no10 role, he's probably not what we need to bring in before next season. We'll likely need a proper RW and another CM I think.

I keep flipping back and forth on whether we should get him. On one hand, he's obviously a world class player and if used properly would tear up the league I think. On the other hand, he'd cost 100m, and I don't think we'd be able to use both him and Pogba together in their best positions against the very best teams. Against teams like City, Griezmann would basically have to go out on the right. Mkhitaryan I think can play alongside Pogba in a deeper role, but Griezmann as a 10 is much more like a forward rather then a playmaker like Mkhitaryan. So it could still work of course, get a proper holding mid, have Pogba next to him, Griezmann in front behind Ibra, and Miki on the right. It's the sort of lineup that would probably work best on video games but in real life would be a bit unbalanced. It would be enough and probably great to watch against probably 12 teams in the league, but the other 7 we would need to use Griezmann out on the right where he's really not that great. Though at the same time, the way Mourinho uses his wide players to drift in a lot and be central, it could work?
You want a bit more of a guarantee for 100m is all. He's one of my favourite players probably, just not sure if he's exactly what's needed.
