I'll be here all day if you need to leave your pick.

Offer extends to anyone else too.
My picks depend on people picks. Last two rounds my picks had all been picked just before it reached me :p.

Being in the middle in this one wouldn't be very nice, I guess. The research is rather extensive. I just have to worry about mon ami Downcast when I start the research, although he's rather unpredictable. I thought he'd grab Piksi or Susic last round given their admiration in France, but Zebec was a complete curveball.

Reminds me of another potato joke.

How many potatoes do you need to kill an Irishman?

Back to the EE:
Early in the morning, Honecker arrives at his office and opens his window. He greets the Sun, saying: "Good morning, dear Sun!" / "Good morning, dear Erich!" Honecker works, and then at noon he heads to the window and says: "Good day, dear Sun!" / "Good day, dear Erich!" In the evening, Erich calls it a day, and heads once more to the window, and says: "Good evening, dear Sun!" Hearing nothing, Honecker says again: "Good evening, dear Sun! What's the matter?" The sun retorts: "Kiss my arse. I'm in the West now!"

This is going much faster than I expected. Great job all and I definitely made the right choice in scouting not managing.

Great pick! Was already wondering why he was not chosen sooner.
Thanks mate. It was between him and someone else. There are some nice CB options still but no way he was going to last for me next time. Very elegant player - one of my favorites in this draft and fits quite nicely with the rest of my team.

Thought he'd get picked up later, was hoping to get him.
To be honest I'm surprised that some CB's went earlier than him. 2 times EC winner, 9 league titles, 6 domestic cups and intercontinental one. On the top of it he's very comfortable on the ball and reads the game excellently. Those accolades speaks for themselves.

Him, Sammer and Popescu are the outstanding defenders in terms of technical ability from the back. A lot of solid and uncompromising one but those three are easier to pair with almost everyone.

Probably Zebec as well if used as a CB but that depends on @Downcast I guess :)

Used him in an earlier draft but got no love for him, but in this draft should be well received.

You're right to think I'm unpredictable because I still don't have a clear strategy for now.

For example, I have asked @Anders Emil Våge to choose between Popescu & Popluhar.

Susic is a superb pick like Piksi by the way. Susic is certainly most admired in France than Piksi but maybe I say that because I'm a PSG fan

Who were the opposing central defenders in your game?

Edit: if I look at your game against Viva, maybe it's because he was deployed as a side-back or because he is less famous than the other players on the pitch

Depends on depth I guess. He's definitely one of the best CB's in this draft but in all time one there are many ahead of him hence might not be a popular choice.

I've deleted the whole post as there were too many names. Will put all pieces when drafting is done.

Sorry to be that guy, but @Isotope Prosinecki isn't eligible - he was born in West Germany, you get to pick another player instead of him regardless of the usual schedule.
Please, check your picks thoroughly, it'll save us some time later, thanks.

And cheers @1950 for his observant eyes.

That's a shame - not a biggie, but an Eastern European draft without Prosinecki and Bican doesn't quite smell right.

You're a PSG fan? No wonder you were pissed at my insistence that PSG weren't a top 10 side in the 90s:lol:

I take it back bro, they were quality!

Good pick. Looking forward to seeing what you can dig up on him. It was pretty much a straight choice between him and Kolotov for my last pick as a defensively strong CM, and I only opted for Kolotov as I hoped it would be easier to find stuff if I research properly. I like the look of your attack as well. Certainly one of the most promising teams so far.

You got a great attack going yourself. Funny thing I really thought about going Czibor-Sarosi/Kocsis route, but with Kocsis gone, I did not believe that if I pick one the other would make it back to me. Think you got lucky there, bagging them both :) .

This is one of the full backs who I've read great things about, so I'm very happy to pick him.

Yeah, I'm quite surprised by the amount of stars that somehow appear ineligible for this draft

Aye, I was pretty drunk when I posted the Sarosi pick and I was waiting for someone to tell me he'd already been picked or was somehow ineligible

I was thinking about him but in the end decided against it because there is to many unknowns, all croatian articles that i found class him as a striker for example. Interesting thing is, his nickname is "Čik" because he was very short and in translations that means a cigarette butt

Hm, interesting, always thought that he was a half back but maybe he was one of those multitalented all-rounders?
