He didn't try a leg in the 2nd half last night, but the guy oozes class when he is on form. Would fit right in at Utd, but don't see him coming because he likes London and would probably move abroad rather than live in Manchester. That said, offer the guy a huge contract and he might soon change his mind.

Money talks, and more importantly if it's from United. I think a big wage could convince him- the Arsenals, the Tottenhams, the Liverpools of this world cannot keep such players because their wage structures 'refuse' to move into the real world

We should do whatever it takes. We'd be weakening Arsenal, along with whichever other English club he would have joined. Can't see why he would turn down Chelsea and City though.

He will move to a team in the Champions League. I think we have a lot of power to sway player's minds but we need to get into the Champions League or some of our targets just aren't attainable.

Imagine getting him and Griezmann in the same transfer window. coupled with some other additions would suddenly make us favorites.

without a doubt, and would perhaps soften the blow of Zlatan leaving if he does

Can see him going to City. Arsenal have been their feeder club in recent years.

Tbh, our "big name" signings have all sort of disappointed over recent years - and the blame can't solely lie with the players - incoherent team building and scattergun approach signings have contributed to this as well etc.

So I'll hold back on the "will make us favorites" tag, no matter who we (realistically) sign. I do have faith in Jose though and that he's able to identify what the team still needs. He's usually quite good during his second season.

But on topic, anyone would be mad to say no to Sanchez.

I don't think he would even improve City that much TBH. Depth wise sure but he's not better than Aguero as a striker, Sane and Sterling look fantastic on the wings recently and he won't drop a midfielder for another attack minded player.

So unless he wants to spend 40/50m for a bench player I can't see it happening. He didn't exactly love him at Barca either.

must annoy the arsenal fans like nobody's business, as much as Southampton and Liverpool... have a Saints mate who lives in Oz- never used mind Liverpool at all but these days treats them like some sort of disease

I just don't understand City being in for him. What, are they going to have over £100m worth of attacking players riding their bench every week? When all of the attackers they have currently are fit they'd have some missing out.

How would you fit De Bruyne, Silva, Sané, Sterling, Aguero, Jesus, and Sanchez in the team and keep them all happy? I can't imagine KDB, Silva, or Aguero ever being on the bench. Sané now seems to be settling well there and is starting every match. Sterling going to be a £50m sub? Future Brazil star Jesus a sub?

It seems to me to be the equivalent of Barca or Real Madrid signing another attacking player when they have no spot for one and are stacked with quality there. Chelsea and United make perfect sense but City? Don't get it.

He can easily replace Sane in that line up.

Sane and Sterling have been great but Sanchez is a level above them both. And they can't play every week. Sterling's been dropped the last few games for example.

Also, Aguero wasn't first choice when Jesus was fit so I wouldn't be surprised if he was moved on. I get the impression Pep would happily trade Aguero for Sanchez and have Jesus as his understudy.

150m? oh dear-youve had a mare there.

He's not even top 10 in the world player in my opinion.

Messi
Kroos
Suarez
Robben
CR7
Bale
Greazy
Modric
Neymar
Lewa

To be honest i'd have him the low teens.

Why do people only rate attackers as the best players in the world? It beats me.

As @Solver says, they win games, anyone watching United on the reg this season should understand this more than anyone.
That attackers win you games is correct. But so do other players. I've always thought it was injustice for Iniesta, Xavi, Pirlo, Buffon, Zanetti, Maldini etc never to have won the Balloon d'or (not that I believe in that award anyway).

He's a completely different player though, he cuts inside and plays more as a 2nd striker. The way Guardiola uses Sane is to stretch the pitch wide and make runs in behind the defence. Not sure that Sanchez has the pace to do that as effectively as Sane does.

If he buys him it'll be to replace Aguero or a squad role on the wings, not sure he would want that though after being the big cheese at Arsenal.

He only comes to City if Aguero is off in my eyes; you don't keep Aguero, Sanchez, Sterling, Sane, Jesus & 1 other (Nacho/Roberts/whoever) happy in one team. Do think Sanchez suits the "Pep style" more, but personally wouldn't fancy that swap.

Hard to turn down a player of that quality though, compares to say signing Tevez or you guys signing Van Persie, sometimes you just go for it & it can win you a title.

Personally hope he goes abroad, wouldn't want to see him at Chelsea/United & don't think we need him at City.

Didn't Sanchez and Pep not get along when both were at Barca? I remembered a few collisions happened between them

I would bin Zlatan if it means getting Sanchez next season. Play him as the number 9 and he will be so fecking good

Thats the impression I had as well. Sanchez had a pretty torrid time at Barca in general, but his best season was once Guardiola had left.

"bin Zlatan" - now there's support for you. While Zlatan's a United player, giving his all, and producing the goods, he'll always have my support over some Arsenal player.

Do city need him though? He'll probably end up at Bayern. I just hope we're in for Douglas Costa who would suit us to the ground.

Yeah great idea - let's 'bin' the player who is carrying our attack this season.

Also, look at Mourinho's 9's across his career. Sanchez doesn't fit that profile.

Sorry don't have time to post links but most U.K. Newspapers plus Goal seem to be running with it.
Fair enough. Although another attacker is not what I'd go with if I was Guardiola. Your FBs and midfield are your biggest concern IMO. That said he'd still be a good signing, just be a shame to see Sterling or Sane relegated to the bench, Sterling especially as he's still one of England's brightest talents.

hangin in there
I wouldn't mind getting him for whatever money but the only bit that I hate about him is his constant whining and having a go at teammates during a game. I know may will chalk it down to him being competitive or him trying to get the most of the team or having the team up their game etc etc.

Given the quality across the pitch we've had this season (imagine a midfield of Fellaini, Carrick and Lingard on the other wing) I can see a ton of games where he would end up whining. It's something I just don't want to see in our player.

Besides, I don't see Arsenal selling him to a PL club this summer - especially with all the poor results they've had this season.

Don't want to sound patronising but they are strikers for a reason- to put the ball in the net. The issue of the ballon d'or is a different argument and I tend to agree with you, but the crown jewel of any team is the guy whose specialty it is to do exactly what is the objective of the sport- to put that ball in the net and hope the colleagues at the back and centre keep it out your end.

On ballon d'or you are very right- how Ginafranco Zola never win it when Michael Owen did, for example! Sometimes I also think it's a meaningless award

Ideologically I agree with you, but I can't think of a season where any of those players were the undisputed best player in the world, as the likes of Messi and Ronaldo have been. Best in their positions though.

As you pointed out Individual awards in football are meaningless anyway.

Yeah, this.

I think a lot of Arse fans don't even seem to pick up on it.

Like Wenger, they'd rather strengthen City again than sell to Mourinho/United.
