We better win this poxy Europa League after devaluing the league and disrespecting the home fans.

Just read that your starting 11 only has 12 PL goals between them this season. Amazing really.
Take Ibra out of our team and there are very few goal scorers in our team.
Since last season, virtually all our attackers have been goal shy.
Somebody needs to remind our attackers that scoring goals is the aim of football.

    That team

Seems clear what the plan is. Workmanlike players who will put a shift in and play for a draw, while we rest the first team for our first choice competition. I'm fine with that.

It's obviously a weak side but imo Mourinho is right to prioritise the EL. That's clearly the easier route into the CL.

Hopefully people understand this and he doesn't get destroyed if we have a bad day.
    I agree.

To be fair that Barcelona side left us with no other option. We were never going to dominate that game. We didn't set up with a negative line up like today.

This Chelsea side isn't in the same league and if Mourinho has given up on getting into the top four then I would prefer to see us actually attempt to play some football not this cowardly nonsense.
    True slightly different circumstances

No it isn't. We know he'll cause problems. He has a low goal scoring total for the reason that he hasn't been playing upfront enough. The way he bums out Fellaini is the real joke.
He won't cause any problems for the Chelsea defence, very comfortable game for them. Seeing Fellaini in there week in week out is a joke though.

    I'm guessing it's

    DDG
    Bailey-Rojo-Darmian
    Valencia-Herrera-Pogba-Young
    Fellaini
    Lingard-Rashford
    Exciting stuff

We'll go 1-0 down and Mourinho will park the bus for damage limitation while praising the fighting spirit of our players.

    Meh.

Wow. That is one of the most disappointing line ups I've ever seen.

Where exactly is the creativity? No Mhki, no Martial. Pogba never performs against anyone half decent. Fellaini can't create anything. Herrera will be busy trying to defend. I can see what Jose is trying to do with using Rashord, Lingard and Young to try and catch them on the counter but to me that line up is disappointing and is just Jose trying to stop us from taking a thrashing rather than going out to try and win what is a must win game.

I hope this somehow works out and we win but i'm not confident.

I'm gonna try and be optimistic for the sake of hope. We've had starting lineups like this before and gotten a result.

    Adding some positive notes;

Front three barring rashford aren't good enough but I love youngs attitude, they will fight. At the point with Martial now where he looks to have given up.

De Gea to have a worldy

    No Courtois

if EL isnt won, will there still be Jose fanboys saying hes been a success this year?
Jose needs to win the E.L to save his season - if he fails to reach top 4 that is one thing. But not winning the E.L with the cards we have been given (a mediocre french side and a mediocre spanish side as our main competitors) - that wont be good enough

didnt mean all. you always get the few who defend him endlessly
Their opinion. The " fanboys " statement can be said on almost anyone who defends a player or manager and they won't be pleased with it. I don't like it myself .

I have defended Jose a lot this season but sure if we ended in Europe League next season , this season will be considered a failure.

    Let's hope not.

I disagree with the line up, but you don't know what you are talking about if you think that the gap between 2008 United and 2008 Barcelona is bigger than United and Chelsea now. That 2008 Barcelona side was weak and we probably would have done better not parking the bus against them

The EL game is on Thursday and you play at home. This game is also at home. Is it really that bad for fatigue to play the best possible XI today?

Herrera will be running around like a blue arsed fly trying to cover every blade of grass in that midfield.

Tougher than it looks for a mediocre English side.

Surely it's going to be this:

    DDG
    Valencia Baily Rojo Darmian
    Herrera Fellaini Pogba

    Lingard Rashford Young

If Jose is going to rest players and put out shit lineups like that, why not give some young lads a debut?
Based on what? Clearly he trusts Young to do what he instructs more than anyone. All managers do that.
