I think we've given them too much respect. Should try and press that back 4 when they're building up from the back. We did that 2nd half at OT back in September and they struggled to cope.

Fairly meh overall, lacking the dynamism of the Chelsea performance and seem to be giving them a lot of time on the ball. I think we're playing for a counter-attack goal, but that's not particularly come to fruition so far. Wouldn't mind Rashford being moved into the middle at all either.

Pretty poor. City dominated for long periods, our midfielders are like turnstyles without the ball and we're still missing gilt-edged chances.

On the plus side Bailly has been beastly in defence and we have their back four beaten for pace. City having more possession and even dictating the play to some extent is not the end of the world if we can properly utilise our pace on the flanks and through the middle.

Pogba really missing.

A couple of times the through ball to Rashford has been on but we haven't been able to execute it. This would have been Pogba's role and he would have delivered.

Fellaini has been one of our better players, but he plays advanced of Martial at times. Martial and Mkhitaryan are playing as wingbacks almost.

This is the problem imo, it's not even that they're playing that deep but the lack of movement from both off the ball is fecking bad. It's been a clear instruction for Fellaini/Ander to play a bit higher and just release our wingers whenever possible but it's Rashford only who makes those off ball runs. You can see around 38th minute (@GifLord could you get it for us?) that we're locked on the right side, Carrick gets the ball and there's nobody on the left either coming in or doing the run and he's shouting like mad at Martial.

We've won the ball plenty of times in midfield just to subsequently lose it seconds later because we are not able to release anybody, nobody's making the run. This match will cost Martial his spot again if he doesn't improve.

I think we did enough in that half. We just can't deal with that attacking unit by playing expansive football. We have seen worse away performances.

He tries to dribble his way out of it when it's simply impossible. He must be playing one of the worst games of his life. I believe he has a lot more to show us but this will not be the game.
