There is one little difference in that Lukaku has scored 27 goals and has 6 assists this season while the talentless Fellaini has 1 goal and 1 assist so I guess the "lump" Lukaku has perhaps a little bit more in his locker? One thing is for certain that despite him being a big unit he can for sure move around and has pace and power while Fellaini is just a dreadful footballer.

OnTopic: Depends on the team and what it needs. I am not convinced that Griezmann as a striker will fit into a possession based team.
I love Rashford, but I think he would do extremely well with someone like Lukaku just in front of him or even Rashford playing from the left with the big man in the middle to bang them in. Griezmann is a pipe dream, so I have voted Lukaku
Obviously. I was comparing their style and not their ability. Lukaku thrives when he has acres of space (which he wouldn't get here) or when it's lumped into the box (which he shouldn't get here).
We need someone who has good close control and good dribbling ability in small spaces. That isn't Lukaku.
Do we not perhaps need both? Sometimes you need strength and power in the box when team´s are packing their defence? Before Ibra we hardly had any physical prescene upfront but that sure did help us this season. And with perhaps Rashford as the only striker left after the summer we need at least 2 strikers.
I can't think of a successful team that has a striker as limited as Lukaku. He has his uses obviously but the negatives outweigh the positives with him.
I can't see us signing two strikers either. Not when we'll almost certainly play a one striker system. We'll see though.
He must be the most complete limited striker around then having scored 27 goals and 6 assists in a Everton team? Last season he scored 15 in 31 games. We need a prober right winger and with Martial/Rashford Griezman and a new right winger with some crossing ability behind Lukaku we would have a really exciting attack. Need to find a good DM also.
Well Benteke was putting up similar numbers at Villa and I doubt you'd class him as anything other than limited.
Some types of players just can't cut it and big teams and I'd be amazed if Lukaku wasn't one of them.
I agree with Rene. Lukaku would be nice but probably at best is Arsenal level right now and comparing him to Greizmann would be like comparing Giroud and Hazard. I defo would not say no to him though
In fairness, Griezmann is also not a dribbler.
I like the idea of BOTH Griezmann and Lukaku. Let's scare the heck out of opponents for a change.
I don't get it, hasn't Pogba proved to you lot yet that he's not a no.10? I don't see why he shouldn't play with Griezmann as long as there's the right defensive balance alongside Pogba. A young Carrick or a bruiser who's good at retaining possession and we'd be absolutely sorted.

Not convinced really by either of them if I am being honest. I think Lukaku is probably at his level right now at Everton, although Chelsea seem keen on him. Griezmann I haven't seen a lot of him, but what I have I haven't been overly impressed.
This team needs a goal scorer and Lakaku gurentees that. Let the other attacking players do the technical stuff and let him get on the end it!
Nowadays you need a striker who can offer more than just finishing, I don't think he does enough outside the box to be effective as a Mourinho 9. He's still young so he could always improve, but for the money he would cost I'd rather sign a player at the top of his game like Griezmann. He always seems to go missing against big teams and blows hot and cold, although I'm not sure how much of that is down to Everton being a streaky team the last few years.
Griezmann. Lukaku is a very good player too and I think a lot on here are way too harsh on him but having him up front would encourage us to play a certain way that I'd rather we didn't.
Lukaku is being underrated a bit. He's a fantastic Prem proven striker who is more than capable of knocking in 30 or more goals a year at a top club.
I like Lukaku but his tweet response to the Sun's article on him makes me think he is Chelsea bound.

He remained all quiet during the speculation him joining Chelsea but as soon as the Sun mention him snubbing them to join us he gets all sensitive.
True,but Griezmann is rung above Lukaku and Lukaku is rung above Rashford and Martial,ideally we should have an Griezmann level(world class),Lukaku level(proven premiership striker) and a Rashford/Martial not yet proven but
potentially premiership/world class.
It wouldn't surprise me if Jose bought two strikers this summer or he wouldn't be too upset if PSG put in a big offer for Martial and he wanted to go back France.
Lukaku. Now its more like i think lukaku is more needed than griezzy. We need a holding striker to stretch the game, he is strong, young, got good height, got good athleticism. Is a proven talent of epl. I think both pogba and lukaku alone will be enough.

Imagine how many goals he would have got with us this year, with the games like burnley, stoke etc at home. I bet my bottom dollar he would have had a field day
Not convinced by either, Griezmann is playing in a league where the competition is not as strong as the PL he has not been that impressive against Barca and Real. He may struggle over a long season here, Lukaku is used to the premier league and if played for a better team may be very effective. The prices quoted for either of these is too much.
I doubt it. He will struggle against teams parking the double decker. But he will struggle in CL more because he's simply not good enough to have an impact in CL.
But most importantly, I don't want to see hoofball next season. For £100m, we can buy virtually any player in the world.

One of Lukaku's best attributes imo is backing into defenders and spinning off them, getting shots on goal away. Playing V those teams that sit deep is perfect. Plus hes pretty dam good in the air
I agree on not being truly sold on either. You say he wasn't impressive against Real or Barca, but it was the leicester games that worried me more. He couldn't break down a stubborn defence which has been our problem all season against weaker teams. Atletico typically play a counter attacking style and that's great but our problem is breaking down teams with 2 banks of 4 in front of us esp at OT. I'm not saying no to him just being skeptical for the time being. Lukaku will score in the pl, against big teams in CL is where I would be skeptical on him
My choice would be Lukaku. His goal scoring has gotten better and better in the premier league. He competes with guys playing for top four sides whilst at Everton for the golden boot. It would be better to get both but they would cost close to 150m that would eat into our transfer budget
My preferred choices would be Sanchez and
Belotti. It's a shame Arsenal wouldn't dare sell one of their stars to us again. We would get them for less than a hundred million maybe 70. Sanchez can score goals from the wings and Belotti as a nine and we wouldn't have to tweak the formation to fit both in.

A pure 9 is more important if you play 4-3-3 or even 4-2-3-1 and Griezman is a SS imo.
But i prefer to sign a destroyer-midfielder, a top LB and play with Martial-Rashford up front.

These guys forget how isolated number nines for midtable teams are against top 5-6 opposition. It's usually themselves vs two cb's for 70 % of the match
