We will be signing two proven goalscorers imo. So it could well be there two.Why not both.
Just a hunch, I bet Mourinho would go for both of them this summer.

There is one little difference in that Lukaku has scored 27 goals and has 6 assists this season while the talentless Fellaini has 1 goal and 1 assist so I guess the "lump" Lukaku has perhaps a little bit more in his locker? One thing is for certain that despite him being a big unit he can for sure move around and has pace and power while Fellaini is just a dreadful footballer.I honestly wouldn't want Lukaku here at any price. He lacks technical ability and has a playstyle which wouldn't sort the type of team we're trying to become.
What would be the point of finally getting rid of Fellaini only to replace him with another big lump to hoof the ball to?
Why is OP being laughed at for this? Griezmann doesn't even score as many goals as Lukaku does when Griez is in a stronger team in a weaker league ffs. Lukaku bags more in an average team, in a tougher league. Lukaku is settled in England, whereas Griez has already made it clear he doesn't fancy the English weather/lifestyle. Lukaku is 3 years younger too. Honestly, I'd take Lukaku over Griezmann.

Do we not perhaps need both? Sometimes you need strength and power in the box when team´s are packing their defence? Before Ibra we hardly had any physical prescene upfront but that sure did help us this season. And with perhaps Rashford as the only striker left after the summer we need at least 2 strikers.Obviously. I was comparing their style and not their ability. Lukaku thrives when he has acres of space (which he wouldn't get here) or when it's lumped into the box (which he shouldn't get here).
We need someone who has good close control and good dribbling ability in small spaces. That isn't Lukaku.

He must be the most complete limited striker around then having scored 27 goals and 6 assists in a Everton team? Last season he scored 15 in 31 games. We need a prober right winger and with Martial/Rashford Griezman and a new right winger with some crossing ability behind Lukaku we would have a really exciting attack. Need to find a good DM also.I can't think of a successful team that has a striker as limited as Lukaku. He has his uses obviously but the negatives outweigh the positives with him.
I can't see us signing two strikers either. Not when we'll almost certainly play a one striker system. We'll see though.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Sir Alex Ferguson’s former right-hand man said: “Don’t get me wrong here, Lukaku has obviously had a fantastic season and he is a goalscorer.
“But at a club like Manchester United you need more strings to your bow.
“What he needs to develop definitely is his game on the ball, in terms of quick combinations with his team-mates.
“That is where he falls short, I think, and it’s something that’s not as exposed at a club like Everton.
“But if you play at the highest level, your finesse on the ball in the final third, your decision making has to be absolutely spot on.
“Yes he would bring power, he would bring strength, but when you look over the years at the strikers United have had, does he fit in the same line of strikers? I don’t think so.”

This is as pointless as asking would you rather shag Susan Boyle or Jennifer Aniston
This team needs a goal scorer and Lakaku gurentees that. Let the other attacking players do the technical stuff and let him get on the end it!
What happened?I like Lukaku but his tweet response to the Sun's article on him makes me think he is Chelsea bound.
Proper Jose type centre forward too.Lukaku is being underrated a bit. He's a fantastic Prem proven striker who is more than capable of knocking in 30 or more goals a year at a top club.

Reports saying Lukaku wants £200k and only United willing to pay that much. dear me!
Hope we don't get stuck with this lump for the next 10yrs when we can sign better players. He might make us a top 4 side at best.
I doubt it. He will struggle against teams parking the double decker. But he will struggle in CL more because he's simply not good enough to have an impact in CL.Imagine how many goals he would have got with us this year, with the games like burnley, stoke etc at home. I bet my bottom dollar he would have had a field day
One of Lukaku's best attributes imo is backing into defenders and spinning off them, getting shots on goal away. Playing V those teams that sit deep is perfect. Plus hes pretty dam good in the airI doubt it. He will struggle against teams parking the double decker. But he will struggle in CL more because he's simply not good enough to have an impact in CL.
But most importantly, I don't want to see hoofball next season. For £100m, we can buy virtually any player in the world.
Not convinced by either, Griezmann is playing in a league where the competition is not as strong as the PL he has not been that impressive against Barca and Real. He may struggle over a long season here, Lukaku is used to the premier league and if played for a better team may be very effective. The prices quoted for either of these is too much.
AgreedAs good as griezmann is, and obviously he's on a different level to Lukaku... I think I would prefer Lukaku (lets say him at 50m vs Griezmann at 100m). Griezmann just doesn't really fit our team and honestly, have my doubts over how great he would be in the prem. We don't play with 2 up top, and our group of midfielders necessitate a midfield 3 to get the best out of both Pogba and Herrera. Griezmann doesn't fit a front 3 and you basically can't get the best out of both Pogba, and Griezmann. It's one with the other being stifled and playing out of position. Lukaku is perfect as a lone striker, especially in the prem. Get quality wide players either side of him (hell, hope Martial and Miki get consistent next season and we are set on that front).
Basically, Lukaku slots right in and makes us more balanced and is an obvious fit. Griezmann we have to shuffle people around and probably won't get the best out of him with the current group of players. It's not all about "who is a better player". Griezmann is world class but just doesn't really fit in, unless we are doing big changes.
He had 2 goals in 8 appearances last season.
Albeit he did well this season with 5 goals and 2 assists, his atrocious finishing played a part into Mac City's early exit. As a matter of fact he has missed the second most big chances this season and should have had much more goals than his present goal tally. Would you like to guess who has missed the most BC's this season?
Its a bit unfair to be comparing record against big teams for a person who plays for a much weaker team. Nevertheless his goal tally against top 4/5 opposition is the same as Aguero and more than Zlatan albeit he has played more games. But as many has said he is still 23 years old and there is no way of telling how these young stars will perform against top flight opposition. Was Martial proven at the biggest stage when we signed him? Was Rashford? Ronaldo? Rooney?
Frankly, the fact that he is one of four players to reach the 80 goal mark(in EPL) before turning 24 is insane and should be enough to convince that he is going to be the real deal.
