I really hope Mourinho is not being overconfident with Herrera, knowing he refused Barcelona and all… Anyhow, I see him starting at Stoke, next match.
I hope you're right. He's my favourite player. So much passion for us, needs to be rewarded.

Lindleof obviously isn't doing enough in training. He's getting the Mkhitaryan treatment here.
I agree, I think we'll give him some games in the cups to see how he does, pre-season should be taken lightly but he did look behind our other players in those matches.

easier to bury chances as you come on fresh in last 10 mins as their defenders are Travellers.
If Martial runs around headlessly for 80mins and Rashford comes on and slots in a goal or two, I guess he'll be the 'better finisher'?
I'm not judging Rashford's finishing on 2 games only, it was obviously below par last season also. Have you not seen the amount of 1v1's he has missed? Rashford has to improve his finishing but Martial is generally very clinical.
Rashford does run around a lot yes and often runs into blind alleys also and needs to learn to pass to his teammates more.

After 2 good sub appearances Martial deserves a start. It's good management and shows reward to the players and will keep them all hungry coming off the bench to perform. Can you not see that?

Now this is chance for Martial to simply give Mourinho no choice and not drop him.

I'm confident with proper chances given, Martial will easily cement his place in the starting line up.

He doesn't. But at the same time, Martial doesn't deserve to be benched either. Think it sends the right message if Martial performs in his cameos and gets in the team.
As industrious as Marcus has been, he has missed a couple of very good chances, where as Anthony has been clinical; that for me is the reason for the change.

I like that Mourinho is keeping a settled team so far but at the same time has showed today that if you do well a place is there to be won.

Before Mourinho I can't remember the last time it was easy to predict our starting 11.

Besides, Rashford's going on international duty and Martial was dropped from France. It's a motivation issue.

Fully deserved, hope he has an excellent game, Leicester's defending is suspect so he could have a field day if he plays as well as he can.

Sticking with 3-1, I reckon they'll score first.

Glad Martial is getting a deserved start, Rashford to replace him around 60mins I reckon.

Hope Martial can take his chance today. Dont want to hear anything about him 'not having a run of games' if he doesn't perform today.

You could equally argue Rashford doesn't deserve to be dropped and Martial deserves to start. It might not be a case of who is playing better and who is "dropped" but Jose taking the long view thinking Tony needs a start more than Rashford.
Jose needs to be advised that there is no PL rule preventing both from starting.

Of course he was always going to go with more or less the same side, but I do worry about Blind's lack of pace against Mahrez and generally their counter attack.

What's with Lindelöf though? Not even on the bench, not really convinced by him yet, but a bit weird he's not even making the squad?

Figures. I predicted Martial for Rashford last week, but not this week.

They can't unless Lukaku is injured ( hopefully not ). I don't find a single reason of why Rashofrd will succeed if he plays on the right flank. He's always better on the left flank.

    agreed Martials finishing > Rashford

All I'm saying is interesting to see if Martial has been given time, space to finish thanks to Rashford's work - would be interesting to see it the otherway around.

I'm betting we'll pull this out the bag 4-3 after trailing 1-3 at half time.

It's going to be a very tough game and I am sick with nerves.

Why do people keep going about that when Rashers has missed a hatful of chances?? Don't get it? Martial's been the better of the two.
First of all, he's missed a couple of chances, not a hatful. Secondly, he's been a key attacking outlet in both games. Lots of excellent attacking play, providing penetration when others can't, keeping the opposition on the back foot, making chances for others. If it wasn't for him we'd barely have had a single attack in the first half against Swansea. Goals aren't everything - he's not even playing as #9. Mata hasn't scored any goals from the other wing, why isn't he catching heat for it?

Plus, catch the tone of my original post. Not criticising the change. Martial deserves a start. But for me it's not a case of Rashford deserving to be dropped, just that Martial's too good to leave out.

That's not true in my opinion. Don't have the stats, but Rashford has played a fair few times on the right for us, and has excellent crossing ability. In fact, he's probably more suited for the right than the left.
