When you spend half a billion on a team and plan to spend a fortune more in January to replace an injured player, you have even less right to tell other teams and their players how to play against you.

If I was the Southampton manager I'd be livid at him treating my player like that but it's nothing new from a guy who perpetually seems to think the football world owes him something.

The good news is, that even when winning and in great form this guy is a breath away from a meltdown and everybody panicking about city need not worry about any sort of longevity. He simply will not be there in 2-3 years and when it does end he will probably go after a meltdown conference where he cries. Again.

For anybody that hasn't seen it look up his pathetic behaviour towards redmod at full time. It puts klopp to shame. If it was mourinho I don't dare think what the reaction would be.

It's up to him to figure it out how to beat teams, not to tell them how he wants them to play so he can do his thing. Take confidence, and absolute certainty, that he will be jumping ship in no time no matter how unlikely it seems now.

I don't know where the myth that Guardiola is a long term manager came from,I don't he is spent more than three years at any club.
Then you have people giving mourinho grief that he is a short term manager when there are hardly any long term manager around.
I hope we beat them, his meltdown will be epic especially if it's a long ball by de yea and lukaku scores after a shit first touch..

This was definitely worth it's own thread.
Why not. We open new threads to discuss bad tackles, red cards instances. A manager running onto the pitch at full time to berate opposition over their style of play is a rare occurrence and worth opinions - which are already mixed, that's how a forum works

Can someone who isn't shaking with hatred calmly explain what happened please?

He's a self righteous prick.
This. He's a bloody good manager and I used to think he was a gent but he's clearly a bit of a twat.

Wouldn't be bothered about that if I were a city fan though. A lot of people of this level of success are of extreme conscientiousness.

He spend 4 years with us.

The difference between Pep and Jose is that unlike Jose in 2012/13 and 2015/16, Pep has never had a season his own players turned against him.

In all seriousness I believe that Jose would be explaining his actions to the FA if he were caught on camera screaming at an opposition player like that.

Sure thing. Post match guardiola met redmond on the pitch to remonstrate with his arm around him. This escalated to him waving in arms in his fans and shouting- supposedly about style of play

He'll jump ship when he's delivered two titles for City.

I wouldn't give a feck if Mourinho was acting like that if he had us at the top of the table whilst playing beautiful football. Just admit you're jealous of how well Pep and City are doing, thats why you've made this thread.

I think people mean in the sense the fruits of his work is still felt long after he has left to the point he is, for all intents and purposes still there. That was especially the case at Barca, he created such a monster team not even he himself could beat them.

The intensity has dropped massively from their game so I reckon the results will follow suit before too long, and I can't see Guardiola handling it well.

The problem with playing the way they do is it isn't sustainable for an entire season, and when the intensity drops off you have to win games in a completely different way. Not even at Christmas yet and they have two games a week right through until the new year, so they just aren't going to get that intensity back now, and can't keep relying on waiting until the 96th minute to scrape out a win.

They deserve to be where they are without doubt, but don't think it's as over or as much of a one/two horse race as people make out. Us and Chelsea both play in a way you know is possible to keep up for the duration of a season. City play in a way that almost definitely isn't.

He's 100% on the white. You can tell by his odd movements at times in pressers etc.
Remember the last year post match interview, don't remember which game, was it ours in league cup, he kept repeating it's good congratulations. something like that. It was downright weird.

Yeah, thought that was a bit out of order, he does like making a scene of himself, I remember him doing something similar with Kimmich at Bayern, like he wants the cameras to see all his nonsense. But yeah has no right to undermine Pellegrino like that. It's one thing moaning in an interview about a team playing defensive but to publicly do it with an opposition player after the match is done is really low, Southampton don't have 56 million to spend on substitute attackers, if this was Mourinho or hell any other manager they'd be crucified for such a massive lack of respect.

What the feck does that have to do with anything being discussed here? Everyone already knows Jose is a cnut. The discussion here is that Pep is also one.

Ah right, I skimmed your post and missed the third sentence. Thought it was just some random rambling about Guardiola.

Haven't seen the incident but I can't say I'm surprised by his behaviour.

Everyone knows Pep is one too, as is Klopp, as is Conte, as is Wenger and they all have ego's the size of small countries. Winners are more often than not arrogant cnuts. Sad but true.

If you're a Barcelona fan you need to defend Pep and the first thing is to criticize Jose for whatever. You need to understand the guy.

It was a vile verbal assault that I hope the police will investigate. If any of us behaved like that on the street we'd be arrested immediately.

I miss his awkward post match interviews already from last year when it wasn't going right for him and he would just have his arms folded, little sarcastic grin on his face and repeat the question back to the interviewer and just keep interrupting and come out with some bullshit cryptic response.

Yeah this is what I was talking about. It'll happen again at some point.

Which is true - but this insistence to defend everything Pep does by some on here is so fecking odd. Some people genuinely give the vibe that they support Pep more than they do their clubs ffs.

What he did was fecking stupid and as such should be criticised. Whether or not he's fallen out with his players in the past has noting to do with this.

If Mourinho did that to Redmond, you could bet your house those same posters would be calling Jose a cnut and criticising him.

He gave the guy a high five and put his arm around him in the video a bit of an overreaction here.

He is a bit of a dick but I'm not too sure what else is all the drama about. Was a manager before banned or punished for being a dick?

Ach, does anyone really care? They're all a bunch of pricks in football, all the he-said-she-said bollcks is dull. He's got them playing very good football, fair play to the man. Can't judge him or City on much else than that.

Come on man, he is clearly being a bit of a cock.
I'm not saying he isn't but I've seen him do this a lot in his career at Barcelon, BM and City. I can't tell if he's actually being a dick or it's heat of the moment or intensity (he's done this to his own players too).
