- Maradona - by far the most misspelled name I've ever seen (Maradonna). Seen more than his actual name.

- Schmeichel - take your pick of misspellings for this one.

Beat that!

Eriksen. It isn't even that bloody hard to spell.

Unless you're looking at them as a squad, competing on multiple fronts over a gruelling season, that comparison doesn't work. We can switch out more players than they can whilst maintaining a certain standard, there's no way they can do the same.

Alderweireld, Wanayama, Ericksen, Alli and Kane make up their proper spine and none of them can afford to be missing or have an off day. We've not got the same reliance on core players to come out the other end with a result, even if what we do to acquire those pts isn't the prettiest (as attested to in the absence of Pogba.)

They've the first xi, but they don't have a better squad. They are ill-equipped to go deep in the CL whilst battling in the league - one will invariably derail the other even if they try to focus on both campaigns at once.
Sissoko has come on for Ericksen

Kane would improve any team and I certainly think they are weaker without him but I wouldn't call them toothless. Thought they did okay today at times and cut us open towards the end. Alli really should have buried that chance. What will be interesting though is when Madrid come calling next summer and Barca sign Erikkson. Then I think Poch is up sh*ts creek without a paddle :confused::confused:

Let me see now, names I have to copy and paste from Google....

I've always rated Papastathopoulos.

Maybe not the most, but we still get people typing Lingaard or Lindgard or whatever because we used to have Lindegaard at the club

Patrick Vieira. Loads of people miss the second I.

Never seen maradona as one. But still to this day I can never spell Big Pete’s surname and rarely attempt it

If you see Poland as an Eastern European country then Schmeichel should be excluded from your list;)

I have to be honest, I've never even thought to check the spelling of his name. I've probably called him Ericksen more times than his actual name. Guilty as charged!

Any player from Poland.

e.g.

Jakub Błaszczykowski

It depends. Some would say they're in Europe, some would say they're in Asia but I assume when Fortitude made the thread, Mkhitaryan wasn't a name he had in mind.

I'll ask the resident Armenian for his thoughts @Slevs

Geographically Armenia is in the Caucasuses.

Of course if you go by UEFA then Israel is also a European country.

Every portuguese surname that has a similar surname in Spain, like Renato Sanchez instead of Renato Sanches, Patrick Viera instead of Patrick Vieira.

This! It used to annoy me so much earlier, luckily it's not occurring very often nowadays :)

A lot of people on this forum seem to think we have someone named Bailey playing for us.

Özil and Lindelöf, people keep forgetting the ”ö”.
While you're technically correct, I think that is just a matter of laziness/not all keyboards being easy to use umlauts. I know how to spell both but just use a regular 'o', or, on occasion 'oe'

Same here, I don’t think i have that o to post on ios?

A big part of it is having no idea how to type it other than copying/pasting then deciding that it's too much hassle.

Edit: Same with anyone with an "é". Just had to go to Pelé's Wiki for that.
