Have we significantly improved since we got rid of LVG?

On paper we have. Won two trophies and this season (until now) we've been better in the league. Did decent in the CL too so far.

I think our average performance is different from the LVG strategy and usually a bit more enjoyable.

I still and always have disagreed with anyone trying to tell me this Mourinho football is night and day superior to what we saw under Van Gaal. I know too many United supporters in real life who think things are just as boring as ever.

If you wanted to get far away from LVG type football, Mourinho is a very odd choice. Which is why I find it hilarious that some of the most scathing posters of the former, will go out of their way to defend Mourinho now.

In LVG's last season we were 10 pts worse and scored 16 goals less, and out of CL group at this point of the season so we have definitely improved but not significantly.

Improved: Trophies and number of goals scored.

Struggling: Consistency and putting game to bed.

Overall: Nearly same as under LVG but scoring more goals.

Bring back Aloysius, he got interrupted in his tenure, Jose has profited from his foundations

No... There looks to be no team chemistry at all in this squad under Mourinho..

It looked like LVG was still managing us today, last week it looked a Moyes team. After all the money spent and for fans to be asking this is worrying. Says it all.

Wouldn’t call it significant. Marginal and now doubts are creeping in. Things can change, but we are worryingly listless now like back in 2015 December.

Two trophies, albeit not the elite ones was a solid first season. The Football was pretty poor and the league campaign was very average.

This season is shaping up to be worse. Does anyone see any progress in our tactical or football development? I know I don’t.

Were the signings what we needed? Was Lukaku the right choice? Lindelof? Matic is a good buy but we are asking him to do too much.

Our league form is as tumescent as it's always been for the last 4 years.

Draw specialists.

We're higher in the table, scored more goals, have more points and we won our CL group. City's insane season is making it look even worse for us, were it not for them we'd be right in a title race along with Chelsea.

The problem is the football. And I guess we expected it when we signed Jose. Right now, it's hard to say it's better than LVG's but previous to our dip in form it was so much better.

I guess we have a bit - but not enough..

I honestly didn't mind what LVG was trying to do. I thought it would be a good foundation for us (right now we can't even hold on to the fecking ball). All Jose needed to do was add some dynamism to the set up imho.

Not as much as we could have expected based on the money spent and Mourinho's track record.

Still half a season to turn it around but week after week we're looking more like 11 strangers who met in the tunnel for the first time.

Improved a bit but not significantly. But winning the UEFA cup for me was a great moment so I might be blinded a bit by that

So maybe not at all? I dunno

I think a better question would be, as Jose so far fallen short of your expectations from when he was hired?

LVG managed to make an average roster play at a decent level but in a soul crushing way and he couldn't buy a decent player to save his life(at the exception of Martial). Mourinho is good at purchasing players and arguably improved the roster but he can't use it properly. I would say that we are in a better situation but not one you can be satisfied with.

The commentators on NBC or whatever channel it was made a good point, saying do we actually work on attacking moves, or just let the players do what they fancy!

Makes you wonder at times!

We won two trophies last year and have made light work of progressing out of the CL group.

At the start of the season i think many would have accepted progress on CL and a tope 3 finish - top 3 still is likely.

Yes there's been a dip in form but other than city i think all the other teams will have their blips too.

People are forgetting how piss poor it got under Van Gaal!

Ultimately we can't keep sacking the manager - we need to give someone enough time to overhaul the squad.

And 0-0s at home were a fairly regular happening, not a one off like today

Apparently Mourinho is known for this. It looks like it to me but we have no idea unless someone (who watches our training) confirms it.

Glasgow resident these days.
Given that there is a very real possibility of finishing 5th or even 6th for the second season running, then NO, we have not improved at all.
A win in the easiest Eruropa league in history saved his blushes last season.

Definite improvement. Not as significant as I'd have imagined though.
