"Scholes will be in history as a phenomenal player - not as a pundit.

"If one day Paul decides to become a manager I wish that he can be 25% as successful as myself."

Thought this outburst was pathetic from Mourinho, calling out a United legend for having a point of view.

Sounds very arrogant and petty. What was he thinking really.

EDIT :

Another quote :

"It's not Pogba's fault, he made a lot more money than Scholes"

Mourinho being Mourinho. I find that not watching, reading or listening to any his interviews is quite rewarding.

He really is such a clown at times. Totally unneeded and what makes it even funnier is that he did as Scholes suggested, it was possibly Pogba’s best performance.

Its not just a POV, Paul is a paid pundit now.
If its right or wrong he has positioned himself as fair game although there would be a few journalists that I thought Jose would go after before Paul

He is petty man who needs take issues with someone new each week. Jose has always been very insecure. His comments that pundits only criticize Pogba because of the money he makes are fecking stupid. Nothing much to see here, he is an idiot.

Shrug. This is the type of behavior you knew you were going to get with Mourinho. If you criticize him or his players, you're fair game whether you're a "club legend" or some guy off the street.

Scholes is a pretty terrible pundit to be fair.

Completely agree with Jose. Scholes was one of my favorite players but only really opens his mouth when shit's down these days.

SHOCKING! I agree with Mourinho.

Scholes legacy and mysticism about his personality would be much greater if he never became a pundit.

Scholes called Pogba "unfit" and "strolling through games". I would want our manager to defend our players from the outside.

In any case Ferguson wasn't always happy with Keane and Neville's punditary towards the end of his time with us.

Really stupid to start a war with a club legend.

Also, Scholes was right as he said Pogba should play on left side role and given freedom like he was at Juventus.

Mourinho did what Scholes said today and it proved Scholes’s advice was on point.

I never heard of someone actually complaining that their Manager defends their players.

Stupidity on a whole new level.

Aye. Scholes just doesn’t stop whinging about United and when they’re on form he says nothing. Does he think it’s beneficial to the club?

Was it unncessary? Yes
Would Jose pass up a chance to take a pot shot on someone? No

Does Scholes talk a lot of bollocks? Yes.

Scholes was bang on about Pogba. Jose is a tit. That performance was in spite of him rather than because of him.

While it's harsh, he's just defending Pogba.

Obviously could have worded it more lightly, but that's Jose for you.

Jose is defending his team, something everyone on here wanted. Should he just kiss the arse of our legends instead?
Should he invent stories like Scholes being jealous of Pogba's money?

I don't understand when fans think people like Scholes and Keane should be able to talk whatever garbage they want about the club because of what they did for it.

I love both of those men dearly for what they did for us in the past, but they have not been around the club on a daily basis for years and thus should leave tactics and decisions up to the 2x European champion.

As I said in the post match thread I think both are wrong, Paul for criticizing Pogba and Mourinho for replaying on it at all.

Mourinho should have just said Paul is free to comment as he likes and he has no comment on him. Would have closed the argument nicely.
