And parts of the island are STILL without power or clean water now. Also the many thousands that left the island because they lost everything.

Completely agree and it stuns me that he is not called out on it more. I know he simply refuses to answer questions that he doesn't like, but he needs to be faced with these questions everytime the press get in front of him.

The American economy is huge and they can handle that deficit without major worries. What Americans should be worried about is their crappy healthcare, militarised police and sociopathic warmongers.

I agree about the other worries, but is nobody remotely concerned that the economy is not keeping pace with the deficit and this is even when the economy is doing pretty well? What will happen when things inevitably dip again?

The deficit is a result of a massive wealth giveaways to the wealthiest Americans, it's easy to fix through the lower classes rising up and killing the feckers. It's an artifice of corporate rule, not a natural result of government spending.
With all the trade wars going on, who would buy up the US bonds to fund the budget deficits? China certainly wont be doing out of nationalistic pride. Eventually, it will force interest rates up and its trickle down impact on the economy.
When that happens the GOP will, without blinking, blame the incumbent Dems and demand cuts to social welfare.
