Didn't see the game as I planned to watch in work but was having all kinds of problems with the TV and internet connection. Positive to hear the full-backs did so well. Honestly I think Jose knows what he's doing with the rest of the squad and despite so many fans second guessing central defense IS our biggest issue currently. I'd like to see Dalot keep his place Saturday against a decent Wolves side and strength to strength for Shaw who's been the story of the season thus far. Well deserved and proud of the lad.

Lukaku's first touch and Martial/ Rashord dumbass wing play is killing our attack.
Rashford, Martial and Sanchez are struggling for form so far. I don’t know why our supposedly exciting attackers aren’t clicking under José but we still look pretty predictable and blunt as things stand .Young boys even after their spirited start are essentially a very poor side and we should be comfortably winning that match 9 times out of 10! Onwards and upwards though!

I agree with that assessment. Maybe a bit harsh on fred given it was his pass that set Pogba on his way for the third goal. Granted, the first half an hour was average enough. Controlled the game after that though.

Most enjoyable game of the season, the two young fullbacks played well, Pogba was excellent and Martial grew into a good performance as well, and despite some of their energy and drive young boys didn't have the quality to really test us.

Our wingers need too much work.

Pogba needs to stay focused and the club tries to keep him happy he is world class.

Lindelof and Fred are not good enough.
Happy for Shaw and Maetial.
But Don't know our strikers still strugle to work together!

The best thing about this game was that it was 100% routine, and routine wins while not playing at top gear are probably the most important characteristic of any top side. There were a few good performances, ultimately with the gap in quality separating the sides.

For someone who was leaning on the 'Mourinho Out' side, not for any particular agenda against Mou, but simply because I feel that we should be always looking to improve, but under Mourinho I felt this season would be very similar to last season and we are at a critical stage where we really need someone to come in take this talented squad to the next level.

However, this performance caps off a great couple of weeks with 3 away wins on the bounce, and the best thing about it is that Mourinho came out fighting after the Spurs loss, and the players have followed him and really shown some character in the last couple of weeks. The performances probably still aren't where they should be, but for the first time in a long time I feel like I am watching a United side with the bit between their teeth, and although the football still isn't great, the determination and character shown by the squad has been refreshing.

Not really, its like customer service. People are more likely to write something if its a bad experience or an exceptional one.

Beating Young Boys is neither.

Lose to fecking Brighton? 30pages.
Beat City/the Scum? 30pages.

it was a professional job and an expected one nothing more nothing less.

Interesting. Shouldn’t get too cocky.

Lyon and United are playing with a 2 goal cushion for most of the game and City/YB are chasing. XG never applies context - It's useful in it's own way but not as a reflection of performance.

Bit quick to dismiss them. Lindelof is improving from his first season. I have not seen enough from Fred yet to dismiss him entirely.
I think Mou has implemented both matic and Big Afro deeper to enable full backs bombing forward, helped by Shaw's form. He is still searching effective option at RB instead of Valencia.

Good win in the end but a bit worrying how such a weak team carved us open in the first half. Encouraging debut for Dalot, it is so long since we have seen a full back with pace attacking and putting in a few dangerous crosses. That will have helped Martial's confidence but Fred is well of the pace.

Biggest worry for me was that defending from a corner that gave them what looked a certain goal.

There were about four players in a position to attack the ball and watched it go over their heads, De Gea could have claimed it and instead it falls on their players foot on our six yard line. Shocking stuff. Killed us against Brighton and Spurs too - We cannot defend them.

In the last 3 games, seems like Lukaku is getting less and less neck-pain (from trying to get those long balls). That's a very good sign.

I know. I was more reflecting on needing to tighten up defensively.

A competant performance. 3 points on the board. Thought Mou would have left Pogba on to get the hat trick. Dalot looks a good prospect, especially first half. Fred blew hot and cold. Shaw was ok but not as dynamic as before the head injury, which may be expected. Rashford hit the post, but did little else. Pereira showed what he can do with a jinking run past 3-4 players at the end. Martial scored but like Rashford wasnt on fire. Lukaku had a poor game I thought. 7/10 for the team. Juventus will be a different proposition altogether. Just hope we dont park the bus for 90 mins.

The difference in having two attacking full backs that are 1. natural in their position, 2. can beat a man, 3. can put a good ball into the box and 4. provide genuine width compared to when we play Valencia and Young was clear as day and made a huge positive difference.

Pogba was very much the best player on the pitch but Shaw and Dalot were both very good as was Martial in the second half and also Smalling (whether you like him or not) has shown for me that he’s our first choice centre back, he’s not world class but he’s a good out and out defender and consistently fit so for me I think it’s Smalling plus one now.

What's with all the negativity on here?
We've won three away games on the trot, won three nil away in the Champions league on a s**t pitch and people are still not happy.
There are probably some on here who think that City have had a better result than us.

Very happy. Get off that fake pitch with no injuries and a win.

Thought Shaw and Dalot were great. Amazing to see how comfortable Dalot was in the 1st few minutes, skipping by people.

I really want Martial to stay and am a fan, but I thought he was just OK today. He was pretty wasteful. Again, happy for his goal and thought he was OK, but the end product still needs to get better. Of course that could be because he needs more playing time.

Smalling looks great, glad to see him trying to prove people wrong. Had some good passes as well, one smooth one to Dalot.

Lastly, man I hope Ronaldo can come back to Old Trafford. Hate hearing about that red.

A better team would have had us 2-0 down in the first 30 minutes. Fellaini not there to protect Lindelof and Smalling was shaky to say the least. Otherwise, we made it look comfortable at the end. Martial needs to start every game.

Awful first half hour, decent after that. Played some good stuff for about 20 minutes. Smalling, Shaw, Dalot & Pogba looked good. Martial had a dangerous spell too which was good to see. Rashford & Matic very poor.

Young Boys looked really up for it for the first 30 mins or so, they blew their load premature I think. Pogba's goal really knocked the stuffing out of them. Impressed by M'Baku, looks a warrior. WAKANDA FOREVER

Flattered to win by 3.
Don’t be deceived by the score line this was not a great performance .
They were the better side till we scored and our 2nd goal was courtesy of an outrageous penalty award.
I would expect Juve & Valencia to win there as well.

Really think we are going to regret not signing a top class CB, could have been the difference between us challenging for the title and other major honors. At the moment, if we want to play on the front foot without leaving ourselves completely open, we need either Fellaini or Matic to basically play as a third defender which hinders our offence.

As other posters have said flattering scoreline but great result. They came out flying and we scored at crucial times. Pogba was the real difference with a top finish, knocked there momentum. United got lucky with that penalty but we'll take it. Two full backs were excellent tonight. I want to see them going forward. I can see us scoring way more at Old Trafford with them two. Dalot had a solid debut, his delivery is great. I can see this helping Rom and us in genreral, we have become predictable playing one side of the pitch, we need to use both flanks properly. Poor Toni V is a sub in my opinion, not good enough going forward for United.

First half an hour was fairly even. They caused us a few problems and we were struggling to adapt to the pace of the pitch.

A beautiful goal from Pogba, a very fortunate penalty decision, and the game was effectively over.

Comfortable second half, no major injuries, and we had the luxury to share minutes around the squad.

Pogba, Shaw and Dalot all played well, Rashford was poor, whilst the rest of the team have average performances.

That's my honest assessment and it's great to get the 3 points and keep the run and confidence going!

Happy with the performance. Martial looked like he was missing that final piece until he got a goal so good for him. Rashford as usual is great until he actually has to make a decision. Pogba was awesome and happy with Shaw/Dalot.

- Not a great performance at all but once they'd had their half hour of looking like a half decent side we were alwas comfortable.

- Why does every team we play look more up for it than us and why do we always look like we're shocked at the idea of an opposition team trying hard to win the game. Is this concept alien to our players?

- At one point Chris Smalling actually managed to lose an aerial duel to a player who was literally lying on the floor

- Pogba was decent. Martial kind of was but seemed to have trouble deciphering which players were on his team. Shaw was good again. Pereira when he came on.

- Dalot looked decent going forwards but also looked like the kind of player you'd play against a good team if you fancied losing about 8-0.

- Honestly I know Smalling and Lindelof have been getting some praise, but when do either of them do any actual defending? People can just stroll into our six yard box and have a free shot at goal with no sign of either of these two being at all concerned by it. Yet they aren't attacking either or particularly good on the ball. So what ARE they doing?

- Martin Keown must have broken some kind of record for the most bollocks talked by a commentator in the sppace of 90 minutes. He has even mastered the Glen Hoddle art of contradicting himself completely in the space of 1 sentence "I don't think the pitch has had any impact on the game whatsoever so I don't see why it should be allowed in the Champions Leage as it clearly favours the home team"

Other snippets of wisdom included "you can see it clearly comes off his chest" during a cllose up slow motion replay of the ball hitting Luke Shaw on the arm. Claiming Dalot would be pushing Valencia for a starting place just after he fell over and nearly allowed a player through on goal. "There's that frightening pace of Martial" as a reply is shown of Martial jogging into the box slowly with the ball.
