Watching these things and expecting from journalists to ask him a proper question is pretty much equal to watching our games under his management and expecting to see us playing attractive, attacking ,entertaining football.

Mourinho asked about Lukaku
I always feel, I always feel that every game. One day will be and one day he will score and one day his confidence levels will be back to normal, which clearly they are not there but I always feel that.

Other injury news
All of them national team. We play against Newcastle and we go to the National Team period in a good situation and then after two weeks we lost Dalot In Portugal, Fellaini in Belgium, we lost Alexis with Chile, we lost who else? McTominay with Scotland. And some of them the National Team’s they were very professional with us and send the players back and we could start the process early - but some of them wouldn’t and they kept the players and we didn’t even know the dimension and nature of injuries so when the players arrive two days before Chelsea we have no idea of what is going on.

But we try to solve problems step by step and I think if Jesse can be available and give us some help, McTominay is normally in conditions and we have to wait some more for those other players.

Lingard injury update
Yes, he came from the World Cup with that problem, he thought wrongly that the holiday period would bring things to normality, then he thought wrongly that keep working or start working would improve and then he felt in an impossible situation to play football.

So now he’s going back and to do the work to try and be 100% and in this moment he’s almost there because of the team’s needs, can he help us in the next match, that is the questions we have to answer tomorrow or if we wait one more week of stability for the work so he’s almost there.

Stick with Lukaku?
Well against Juventus to give him a break, I don’t think Carrick can play as a striker, so against Juventus or we play with the players that we did or we decide to give a rest to Lukaku, then Rashford, who plays as a winger?

We are not in the best situation to try to think about resting players or try to find solutions, the solutions is to play the players we have.

It is remarkable that our master tactician cannot think of a way to have the striker's position filled by either Martial or Rashford, no matter how badly Lukaku plays.

He literally states the reason why he didn't want to play them as a striker in the quote you've just remarked upon. It's right there.

Oh, OK so there is only one way of playing football and Rashford and Martial are wingers, I must try to keep up.

Can’t he play Rashford as a striker, Martial on left and Mata on right?

It’s just excuses. He doesn’t drop his big lumps. Matic and Lukaku will play every game where possible.

We’ve got a tired, old fashioned, boring manager with his favourite players, doing repeatedly boring things. Sick of him.

What’s that saying? “Making the same mistakes time and time again yet expecting different results”?

We really need to buy an back-up striker in January If Mourinho's comments are to go by

Hopefully he won't be manager by then though....:nervous:

I'm with Mourinho here. I also feel that one day .... one beautiful day when we least expect it, Lukaku will score. One of these coming months or years hopefully.

That isn't what Jose means.
What he's saying it due to injuries (Lingard,Alexis) if you drop Lukaku and put Rashford or Martial upfront then someone needs to come in to play on the wing.

He literally played Andreas as the right winger in the closing moments of the Chelsea match. He just keeps coming with excuses for everything

"We will try to compete with Everton"

"When you see the money they spent...it's not easy to find a creative solution to the game"

"They (Everton) just bought an entire new defence unit, I say again, they have fantastic scouts with the resource and desire to improve the team in this moment""
He's really trying to get himself sacked....

Rashford is trash. Rubbish as a winger and even worse as a striker.

People are in cuckoo land if they think Rashford will bring more to the team as the main striker over Lukaku.

Rashford is vastly over rated and we need to sell him or loan him out and replace him with someone better.

Rashford isn’t ‘trash’ at all. He looked great for England v Spain.

It’s this manager and his negative tactics that are draining the players.

Klopp and Pep would get Rashford playing well.

Rashford just isn't suited to a Mourinho's team. He will never be the main man in this setup. Loaning is a good option but we can't sell him he is too young.

My point remains the same though regardless of who plays on the right - Rashford could easily play as striker with martial on left and Herrera/Valencia/Young/a youth player on the right.

But it will never happen. Lukaku always plays regardless of form and this is unfair on the technically better players.

Then try a different formation?

Try 442, or 4411 or 4321.

"This" isn't working (mainly Jose's tactics to blame though some players too) so try something else! Fecking anything other than a shite, defensive 433 that doesn't even get the best of the players we have.

If we're saying Manchester United is stuck in one formation, with no options, then we're really in deep shit.

You’re speaking too much sense, the Jose apologists won’t accept it though.

The simple fact is, Fergie, Pep, Pochettino, even Dean Smith or Frank Lampard; walks in to that dressing room and we play completely different and have a go at teams from minute 1.

But no; apparently Jose needed another 200 million to get us playing well.

He has lots of pace and a great shot on him which makes him look good vs teams that are open.

Against teams that are compact and soak up pressure he is useless. He has nothing in his locker for them games which are the majority of the time against United.

If he wasn’t local or English he wouldn’t be getting this backing from supporters on pundits.

Vastly over rated. He will end up going the same route as Welbeck and Cleverly, over hyped local lad that is vastly over rated. He will end up at Everton or a similar level team in 5 years.

Can you also give me the lottery numbers for Saturday?

Your post is hysterical horse dung. Rashford is naturally talented for a start where as Cleverley couldn’t trap a bag of cement.

Jose is at fault here not the young players.

Look, if you expect poor Jose to compete with the ambition, financial clout, and infrastructure of Everton then you’re simply expecting too much.

Simple really. fecking Ed

I agree that people shouldn’t jump on a made up quote, but some of Jose’s comments have been Moyes-esque this week, no?

It really isn’t and he hasn’t shown any improvement since he broke on to the scene for us.

Cleverley was a decent young player and he looked great under SAF, unfortunately he wasn’t a great player, same as Rashford won’t be a great player.

You can quote me on this and come back in 5 years and I will say I told you so.

He will never be good enough for what United are striving towards.

He will be lucky to become half the player Lukaku is and he gets so much stick.

Nah, let's change our entire approach because you're not a fan of Lukaku. Makes perfect sense.

Valencia is injured (as is Dalot) so Young has to play right back. As for Herrera on the right...wtf?
