Fulham have sacked manager Slavisa Jokanovic and replaced him with Premier League-winning boss Claudio Ranieri.

Jokanovic makes way with the Cottagers sitting bottom of the Premier League table with five points from 12 matches.

Italian Ranieri, 67, led Leicester City to the title in 2016 and has been given a "multi-year" contract by the club.

That was very quick.

So, Fulham to narrowly avoid relegation this season and win the league next?

Football is a cut throat world these days. Don't get results, don't expect to keep your job.

Unless you're coach at United then you deserve a 20 year spell.

Ranieri is a class act but I wonder if it's even possible for him to turn Fulham around. He seems to be a great manager for when things are going well.

Everyone said that when he took over at Leicester, that they were sure to go down with him having narrowly avoided the drop the year before and look what happened...

Feck it, £10 on them to win it next year
It was Nigel Pearson who saved them from relegation. Ranieri got the job because Pearson's son and his mates were racially abusing Thai prostitutes while having their arseholes licked.

Everyone said that when he took over at Leicester, that they were sure to go down with him having narrowly avoided the drop the year before and look what happened...
He at least had a fresh start with a pre-season, he won't have this at Fulham and can't make signings till January. I'm still confident in him though because I think this Fulham side can turn things around.

And they were right. Did he actually achieve anything of note at Leicester?

I've noticed news publications have been trying to get this guy sacked for a few weeks now. They need a story and they were getting itchy feet that nobody had been sacked yet in the Premier League. He was the easy target.

He did a great job at Fulham. Ranieri will do well to keep them up, good luck to him.

I think Fulham have a decent squad, but their tactics this season has been way too attacking that they ship tonnes of goals. There are some pretty poor teams down there, so he can definitely keep them up.

It is a bit crazy though how this guy won the PL in what in such a manner and a few years later he's appointed back in the PL to enter a relegation dog fight.

Fulham are dead last with five points in 12 games, their defensive organization is horrible and the playing material is better than this. Jokanovic has done a terrible job so far and deserves the sack, they need to save their season. No room for sentiment if things are way below expectations, they haven’t scored in three games and recently let in seven goals against Cardiff and Bournemouth.

Fulham aren't that terrible. They got some talent and when you look at bottom 7 of Premier League there's some genuine dross out there. It shouldn't be that difficult to avoid relegation, you might be able to do that with less than 30 points this year the way the Premier League has been.

Hopefully he likes TFM and he still gets minutes for Fulham.

Ranieri won't last long, but is probably a good stop-gap to keep them afloat for the season. Predict he will be sacked by Christmas next year.

Barca 09-12 had a great team. United 06-09 had a great team. If you seriously believe Fulham have a great team...
Such an overrated team. They have some good attackers but their keeper and defence are hopeless.

Do we know who will be doing the CL draws now that Ranieri isn't available?

I think Jokanovic is slightly hard done by to lose his job so soon, he did well by Fulham in the Championship. I'm not convinced Ranieri is the man to turn it around for them either.

Harsh sacking. He did well to get them promoted, playing football the right way. Maybe signing so many players was the wrong approach, as alot of them have not worked out and you can understand last seasons players frustration if they are not playing. Their defence was their weakness in the Championship and they didn't strengthen enough in that position apart from Mawson, the rest were average.

He should have been given more time IMO. The hardest thing in the Prem for promoted teams is to score goals, and they don't seem to struggle doing that, even against Liverpool they had plenty of chances in the first half. A defence can be improved somewhat with decent coaching, tactical changes and signings in January.

Southampton at home next. Got plenty of winnable games up to new year so they should be properly back in the mix at least.

Can see teams staying up on 34 points this season.

They need better defenders. They should buy Rojo and Jones. Proven internationals who have played at the highest level.

Meh, Fulham winning the league next year will be a bit underwhelming to be honest.

I mean, been there done that right?

Perhaps we can help them kickstart their season at OT on the 8th of December.

Surely the word “great” can be used in different contexts.
