He knows his way around the stadium but at this point that's about it. The staff members he worked with are almost all gone; of the players he worked with we have... Carrick. That's about it. Even the CEO is different. It's not the Manchester United he remembers from 10 years ago, that's for sure.
He returned after managing Real Madrid and left in 2008. Yeah guess you're right.

Zidane a much better choice
No way, Zidane inherited a team full of winners. UTD are in a rebuild stage and need a manager who will not cry if he doesn't get what he wants and I can only think of 1 who's proven this without a shadow of doubt and that's Pochettino!

To be fair to the OP, let us not forget why Jose probably also failed. Ed should have been braver in the summer and found Jose's solution then, instead of now. He wouldn't back him anyways, so it was meant to not go well.

Then we would have been starting off from 2nd place with high morales, able to get a type in like Poch. Sacking Mou mid-season is not only a sign of a bad manager, but also a sign of bad leadership.

I think we’re all suffering a little footballing PTSD after Mourinho’s brutal reign. Let us come together, like John Lennon said, and rejoice that the tyranny of watching the most dire, risk averse football is over!!

Surprised he hasn't been mentioned more. He's been pictured at Ed's side several times in recent weeks. Not sure how I feel about it though - I love the guy but I'm not convinced he's entirely mentally stable!
Never stopped the likes of Bielsa.

Feck off Sky. First Souness, Danny Mills and now Jamie toss pot Rednap all lining up to sort out our club.

If I were Pochettino, I’d want to prove myself by winning something with Spurs before coming here to sabotage my career and reputation.

Yes. Then Spurs can decide to let him leave or not. If they let him leave, then job done. Otherwise, we should try to buyout his contract, not make pressure on him to make Spurs sack him.

Regardless, even if we pay a bit it won't be much if we want him. We pay 50-60m for players which don't even start so 10-20m for a manager which we really want is nothing.
Surely you understand the difference between managers and players though? Players are an asset, they have a value. If a player comes and fecks up, you can still sell him and recoup some of the fee.

Managers contracts are a complete liability for a club. As you can see with mourinho. If he's a failure you can't sell him on, you have to pay him off just to get rid. That's the difference.

And no club in my opinion is stupid enough to keep a manager who puts in a request to leave. It's just too damaging. Levy will try and put up an act, but eventually he'd have to let him go if Poch wants to leave.

The greatest team in history
I've already put the feelers out on Twitter. FPL mini league champion last season and leading 2 work leagues this season with 2 motm awards in my pocket already. Never have any United players in my squad so in a way I've already identified the problem...

A lot better than sacking Van Gaal a day after the FA Cup final.
The day after! They hadn’t even got out of Wembley before the news that Jose was to be announced as united manager had surfaced. Remember daily blind being asked in his post match interview what he thought about Jose being the new manager? It was disgraceful.
However alas! His reign of terror is over. Merry Christmas everyone.

I'm worried about his hotel suite. It got used to Jose's smell, will it take the separation well?

I may be the devil, but i'm not a monster
People suggesting SAF are surely wumming?

Would be terrible. Disregarding his recent illness, I'd rather he retire on a high.
Tell you what. SAF gets this punch on a cup run and makes top 4.... that beats his final season considering where we are.

We need a motivator and a leader... I reckon the man still has half a season left in him!

Come back Scholes style ;)

My bet is Giggs

Why would Pochettino risk his career and reputation to take over a team that is going absolutely nowhere? It would be a massive gamble. If he's going to leave Spurs then it would be for a club that is ready to challenge for the biggest honours now.

I'm not kidding when I tell you I was just listening to "The Clansman" By Iron Maiden and during the lines FREEDOOOOOM my brother comes out of his room and says the man has been sacked! Today I am celebrating, today is the first time in me life I'm getting pissed on a workday. Have a great day lads and lasses. :D:D:D
Feck, I feel like having a beer too. Cheers!

Why do some people really think it would be Evra? Just because he posts funny videos on Instagram? Do we seriously need this?!

I hope he's getting booed next time he visit OT. Ruined this club more than Moyes and LVG. feck off Jose.

It won't Solksjaer or Queiroz or anyone else currently in a job - nobody is giving up an actual managerial role for a 5 month temporary stint at OT.

It'll be someone currently out of work - Blanc, Conte, Jardim, Wenger, Zidane - given the United journos seem to have been told that it's someone with an existing link to the club, it has to be Blanc.

Gutted it didn't work out. I genuinely believed it would be so much more. Had some great moments but it turned sour very quickly.

I could be wrong but the choice of an interim manager is probably due to the potential appointment of a DOF.
